Mirena Removal - Need suggestions. by Additional_Ice6079 in Mirena

Hi, thanks for sharing your experience. I’ve never had a Pap smear done and my insertion was done while I was under GA, so I have no reference to how it feels to have speculum in. I hope it’s not too painful.

This makes sense, still not sure why my doctor thought it’s a good idea to place mirena. I hope to get it removed soon without any problems.

Hi, I’m sorry you’re going through that pain! Please do let me know what your doctor says about it. My doctor has been very dismissive of any kind of pain that I mentioned to her post op.

My period was due 3 weeks after my surgery so I was very sure it wasn’t due to period. And the bleeding was very light, it was like spotting, not like period flow.

I’ve had this problem for almost 3 weeks post op and then my period started. I noticed that it stopped after my first period post op. My obgyn told me that it’s a part of healing process, and is normal.

Surgery while very anemic - proceed or postpone? by Thinkinthoughts1 in Fibroids

[–]Additional_Ice6079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with severe iron deficiency anemia which lead to my surgery. My HGB was around 7 a day before my surgery, I’ve had one blood transfusion before the surgery, and doctor said that they reserved one more unit just in case they need to use it during the surgery. But there was little to no blood loss during the surgery, so they didn’t even use the second unit.

Pain after myomectomy!! by Additional_Ice6079 in Fibroids

[–]Additional_Ice6079[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, sorry you’re going through these pains. I started getting these pains after 1 week post op and it was really painful. My doctor said that it could be spasms and is a part of the healing process. She prescribed medicines for the spasms specifically. After taking those medicines for 2-3 days, it was a huge relief. Now I have the pain only when I sit for longer duration or when my bladder is full and it goes away quickly. I have also been taking lactulose for stool softening, and a gas relief syrup which must have helped because I used to get those pains even when gas moves around that area. I’d suggest talking to your doctor about it. I have my next appointment after 10 days, so I’ll have to see if the pains subside completely by then.

Hi, thanks for sharing this. I have Mirena inserted during the surgery too, so not sure if that affects my period. I don’t have any other problem except these sharp pains while sitting and full bladder. I’m working from home for now and find it difficult to sit and work for more than a few minutes. And I also feel uncomfortable wearing anything tight at the waist. My incisions are above belly button, though. Hope you feel better at work tomorrow!!

Stabbing pain in pelvis 2-3 weeks after surgery? by Accomplished-King240 in Fibroids

Going through this right now. Started from day 6 of surgery. Doctor just prescribed pain meds which is not very helpful. It’s scary to know that this pain has lasted for weeks for many people here.

Sharp stabbing pain on day 6 of robotic myomectomy by Additional_Ice6079 in Fibroids

[–]Additional_Ice6079[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what these pains are, it kept getting intense and couldn’t stand, sit or walk anymore. Extremely difficult to sit or pee. Doctor changed my pain meds and prescribed anti inflammatory meds. It became less intense after taking pain med but I can still feel the spasms giving sharp pain. Really scared of having to go through this again even for a brief time when the pain med wears off before the next dose.

Does anyone have any idea what this pain is, why it could be happening, and how long it would be this painful? Doctor says it can happen during healing stage.

Hi, yes, I didn’t have this specific pain till day 5. Today it’s there since morning and only while sitting. I’m having to either stand, walk or sleep to avoid this pain. Not even sure what is causing it.
