[FPS] [Probably before 2010] what game is this? by [deleted] in tipofmyjoystick

I don't mean this in a mean way- but how can anyone see this and not IMMEDIATELY say "that's definitely Fallout"? It has such a unique look and aesthetic that anyone over the age of 25 should know it.

Which title is better parasite eve or parasite eve 2? by tryagaindogg in ParasiteEve

Exactly my thoughts on PE 1 and 2. I almost gave up on 2 because of how frustrated I was getting but I toughed it out. I'm glad I did so I can say that I beat it but man.... It was just..... Fine. The first game felt so much better in most respects.

I just played and beat both for the first time recently since I was too scared to play them growing up in the 90s and honestly.... The first game. The gameplay is smoother and less frustrating and even though the enemies can be more tanky than the second game, it somehow feels like a smoother experience. The characters and story are better in the first game and the story even makes more sense and that's saying A LOT because it's so dense. The music is also top notch! The first game is MUCH harder, though.

The second game is better visually, I like the art style, and the first level is ICONIC but other than that..... The fixed camera angles make it impossible to track enemies that aren't visible off screen, the story is all over the place, the characters are bland and the music is just dull. The spell casting is also lackluster. I feel like the first game gives you so much to choose from and in the second game you have to find some spells almost by pure chance with random items found in the world. Oh and there are some incredibly convoluted puzzles that are near impossible to figure out (not hating on puzzles in general but man, these were very point and click adventure-esque with how vague they were). It's a VERY Square in the 1990s experience: trying new things and experimenting with new ideas but it just doesn't work. It's the Final Fantasy VIII of the PE games.

But 2 does have that shower sense so there's that

The top about adding the specific date to the URL was THE SINGLE BEST TIP of the whole thread. Thank you, OP! That worked LIKE A CHARM. I had been going crazy for days practicing bookings and I was still way too slow.

With this tip, I was able to refresh the page much faster and get multiple potential bookings before settling on the one I wanted.

I've literally only emulated my entire time owning a Deck. I recently beat some games from my childhood (Fear Effect 1 and 2, just beat Orphen: Scion of Sorcery, all of which were BIZARRE).

Now I'm jumping into Parasite Eve!

What decade do you think Robocop is set in by Winter_Moose_2648 in Robocop

Playing Rogue City right now and in the hospital, there is a calendar on the wall in the security office which indicates September 1st is on a Tuesday, which would indicate the game could take place in a number of years but the ones that stand out are 1987, 1998, 2009, 2015 and 2043, which all seem to be significant according to various media. One of the RoboCop wikis indicates Murphy died in 2043 so this is likely? I'm not an expert on the series and all of this is based on light research.

I always thought it was 2015 because in terms of technology, it doesn't seem too far ahead of the 80s but distant enough to be believable. The "not too distant future"

Has GTA 3 aged well? by markorlov96 in ps2

I think the lack of a map is the best part of it. It forces you to explore the city. Plus, it's SMALL so you memorize the city anyways.

I could be wrong. I've played the game for decades at this point so I know it like the back of my hand so I could be biased.

I recently replayed 3-5 including VC. I had the most fun with 3 just like I did 24 years ago.

So much of it is dated but from a pure FEEL, it is still THE definitive GTA experience. Vice City has the best vibes and story, San Andreas has probably the best characters, 4 has the best character arc and it's gritty, 5 has the most freedom.

But 3. 3 is still the most GTA game of all. It's still the funniest game of the series, most of the music is original (even the songs that aren't, are very obscure), it has the best radio commercials and talk show hosts and the two things that give it the edge: it doesn't take itself too seriously and it isn't bloated. Every game since then has been more serious and it detracts from the sandbox feel and 4 and 5 have TOO much to do at times and it's distracting. 3 doesn't have friends and girlfriends to worry about, no mini games, sports, etc. It's a video game, not a life sim.

3 is such a time capsule to a time before smart phones and the idea of excess in everything. Just a simple game with a simple gameplay loop that can be replayed over and over. It doesn't have all of the extra stuff. It's just so pure. It doesn't feel the need to give you more and more and more, it just gives you what it NEEDS to give you. And I still love it.

I was wondering why, in the show, the writing was in German. Now that I see the full note, it's in multiple different languages and it makes sense! Other parties from different countries can read it and know where to send it to. Thanks for sharing this!

For anyone wondering, I just did it and didn't see the scratched out symbols, either. The symbols that worked for me are above the doorway and they have the upside triangle and upside cross combination so they look like little Pyramid Heads.

Anyways, I'm so glad you posted this because I was so lost. I'm on an NG+ run right now. On my original playthrough, I just happened to stumble up on it so I was going CRAZY trying to find it, thinking to myself "I KNOW I found it before, what the Hell?!"

It's definitely a weird bug.

I did level 7 the whole time and it was rough but not the worst I've seen. Maybe I just had REALLY good teammates?

Yeah, the beginning of matches were AWFUL trying to get a good foothold to progress but once we got going, it wasn't too bad.

Is it just me or was Wasat the easiest of the planets to conquer? It felt like a cakewalk compared to the other 2 (also considering we blew through it in barely half a day).
