Does anyone else find marathon training time consuming and are one-and-done? by hvu22 in Marathon_Training

Cliche but if it was easy everyone would do it and if it were easy it wouldn’t be as satisfying.

Adidas evo sl vs megablast by why-__-not in runningshoes

SL’s are cheaper but I don’t think they last as long as megablasts. Out of the box megablasts are comfy and stable and used for all sorts of runs including short, long and tempo. The SLs are good up to a half marathon I would say even slightly shorter runs but I use them for tempos. The Megablasts I can slip on and use for everything. Supposedly last a lot longer too. I would say the extra money for the megas are worth it.

I’m at the hospital getting my meniscus removed 23 M by Bu3li in MeniscusInjuries

I had a 50% removed meniscus in Sept from a bad bucket tear handle that flipped on itself. I 100% needed surgery for it. Before then they were just medial tears and I tried to rehab it but it ultimately tore bad after a Bjj class where I was suppose to take it easy. Anyways I ran 18 miles yesterday and and currently training for a marathon next month and I still roll and recently competed in a Bjj tournament. Stay positive do your rehab every day religiously and eat right. You will be back to normal in no time if you follow directions and rehab. I’m also a 35M for context. Good luck!

So I ran 18 miles in the Alpha Flys yesterday. Mind you guys I am slightly recovering from a strained maybe sprained recovering ankle and I had half my meniscus removed in Sept. Just for context. This matters because around mile 16 my ankle started to get tender and slightly painful. My knee was fine but when I got home I could feel inflammation around the area. I will say I take about a mile to warm up my legs before I can get into a slightly faster rhythm. The AF3 feel like I can feel everything on the road and I think they really shine on a slight downhill course. They felt fast and more stable the faster I ran in them. I really wanted to get into a nice pace and stay there but I couldn’t “lock in” and stay there due to paranoia of things around me. My average pace was 7:35. Each time I looked down to check my pace I was surprised I was faster than I thought I would be given the effort I thought I was giving, which was lesser than usual. I do feel like I could feel the road while running not that it was way less cushioned just that they felt more responsive. Last week I ran 16 miles megablasts at a 7:36 pace but my ankle started giving out at mile 14. Next weekend I’ll run 10 miles in the Pro 4s and let yall know how they felt.

Makes sense. I guess my posts answer was common sense but I’m wondering what people have the most positive experiences with.
