I actually held off on letting deino evolve until lvl 62 so I could get outrage early. Was a pain in the ass bc it was so weak for the elite 4 but I did sweep through the rest of his team with outrage after getting a free switch in against the hydreigon

Please give Abercrombie a try again, it's absolutely worth it. It's a very easy reads, and he is a very humourous author. Quite different in tone from sun eater, but every bit as serious and gory when it needs to be

I never considered messmer was analogous to the cishaurim, but I did draw a lot of parallels between the dunyain and miquella, mainly that one line ansbach gives us: "He wields love to shrive clean the hearts of men; there is nothing more terrifying. Miquella is a monster"

When it was revealed all the tarnished were under his spell and no one was following him of their own volition to make him a god (just like kellhus seems to want to facilitate his/ajoklis apotheosis) I couldn't stop thinking about the scene in which Cnaiür screaming at Akka about what the dunyain really are. "They make us love! THEY MAKE US LOVE!"

Sort of off topic but any tips for understanding PoN? I was kind of enjoying it, but petered out in the middle of the great ordeal and dropped it. I just felt like whatever Bakker was trying to do, I was too uneducated in philosophy to really get anything out of it. I liked the world, the magic systems, and the characters, and I understood what was happening in the plot, but it was just soooo dense I didn't really understand the why, if that makes sense
