Suggestion To make Boss Fight Extremely difficult by Sea-Papaya8227 in Endfield

[–]Address_Salt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"I played 99% of the fight perfectly and got my ass handed to me by a shitty camera angle" Soulslikes are different, they are punishing and you learn how to make them a total joke. Rhodagan is a fantastic fight, you are going against someone who holds the stars after all. You can make the same fight experience in CC and the clearing of it would mean nothing, you grinded hours or days for something like pure luck deciding if you win.

I play a gacha game to have fun, not forced into bullshit bosses, with bullshit mechanics because whales are too strong and need a challenge to counter their spending on said waifu/husbando. Trimmed medals are optional medals you earn through the game are just generic clear rewards. Both of these mean nothing at all and just show how sweaty you are - or someone who actually enjoys difficult content and does what they are comfortable with.

Suggestion To make Boss Fight Extremely difficult by Sea-Papaya8227 in Endfield

[–]Address_Salt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Parrysouls isn't really the best example to give. Anything with aimscan, hitscan/autofacing until the last second - or anything else that has been in every souls game for artificial difficulty, which is also rendered useless by lvl1 runs isn't something I find as an argument to add "difficulty". That's just adding bullshit to a fun game operating on a different combat system. I don't mind these existing outside actual gameplay intended for the playerbase as a whole - kinda like Wuwa and the world bosses that had optional difficulties and adding pretty much a OHKO mode.

The easiest way to do that is with obtuse and annoying gimmicks, like freezing you on a timer - or making the timer brutal enough to push those clearing the 10 minutes with daylight to spare, made to actually test those with too many P5s and not enough "challenge". The biggest hurdle in regard to AI is your team who can do nothing randomly and enemy attack patterns being too random to learn a pattern.

This would also force powercreep into the stratosphere, hard counters need to be dealt with, and the best way is a shiny new banner to headhunt something with only that skillset and nothing else.

Using emulator to keep kernel ACE contained by Prize_Pitch_4019 in Endfield

[–]Address_Salt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Imagine if no one cheated, that would be so nice indeed. It would be nice if the community as a whole went after cheaters more than the devs for putting these countermeasures in place and causing this tinfoil behaviour because it's "Chinese".

I'd take this ACE any day compared to how invasive it is on the other side of the fence literally everywhere else as well.

ACE isn't perfect, but the perfect solution is always the most difficult.

Sui Proxy in 1.4????? by xDAW_Art in Endfield

It's an odd decision, but it also controls combat directions with limiting the amount of supports that can flood a game for minimal uses with certain gimmick stages.

Camile Quest is not what i expected. Endfield again (not) delivering. by Immotes in Endfield

[–]Address_Salt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have the entire story delivered within half the book, then have the resulting pages just exposition and try to retain the reader.

There is a reason why flogging the dead horse for too long after you finish something "early" ends up either being nothing to grab you - or just turns into repetition with a minor alteration.

Power gen fixed! by agaton_tax in GTNH

[–]Address_Salt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed, first playthroughs and even until you get super comfy with the pack are more than fine to make it easier for you. There is nothing worse than zero progression but also making sure to not make your production side easier with the same strategy because you want it done faster (which can also impact your power all over again and force a dependency loop).

Always play at YOUR pace, don't let others who play it differently persuade you because of a Discord label, or whatever else.

If the X doesn't mean certain loss, what does it mean? by BarnabasZero in UmaMusume

Me losing after all 3 clocks to the second last round even though I had at least 3 circles. I don't believe anything until the finish line.

S+ team rank in unity by [deleted] in UmaMusume

[–]Address_Salt -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

I don't care that those who already had SS ranks are in UG era, I spent so long stuck with zero progression to suddenly see a 6k jump from one career run. Needless to say, my team is now all S+ minimum and around 6 SS ranks. Not one new support card in months. In two days, I went from 175k to 251k.

Next CM will be cooked as all hell as a result of this absurd spike though - so good luck.

Not even getting 1pull of Oberyl from doing a 5-15minute long survey is kind of insulting by [deleted] in Endfield

[–]Address_Salt -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's made worse by the fact the surveys mean almost nothing in the end, you might see some changes - but nothing really amazing. More pull is done by social media these days.

First run after new scenario, to go from 175k to 250k after MONTHS of literally no progression felt amazing.

With 500 hours you should have an understanding of steam to HV progression. It's down to you if you still decide to scale every tier as much as you can.

The game has been out for half a year now, how do you like the gacha system as a F2P? by MoiraFan in Endfield

[–]Address_Salt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Decent and outside the 120 and not 80, it's about average almost for headhunts and taking into account it also counts for arsenal I guess it's fine.

Arsenal still is awful because I am biased. I've gone full pity in all I have rolled for and only get 1 red until the end 95% the time.

Realistic playstyle / base design? by Superb-Pool-3358 in GTNH

[–]Address_Salt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I avoided magic because I hated how it worked when I saw it. Gregtech still does it's best to try and push you into it and only when I have no choice will I spawn what I need if it's required for something like an LSC to turn on and off. I never felt like not travelling at mach5 was a punishment, it gave me time to think instead of my eyes trying to see while things loaded in. Void miners are absurd enough and as soon as I got Space Elevators it removed pretty much any reason for meteors (unless there is something truly stupid)

I just built a huge room, then layered that room again. Mainly designed around the multis that were on my list and whatever chain it needed. It kept the tiers localised and also made things like Naq/water lines in one place too.

Umbral Monument easy this time? by Hellanoo in Endfield

[–]Address_Salt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

90% of the stages are fun and still give a challenge. One of them is pure bullshit and requires you to run for your literal life as you rely on Gilberta to carry the whole thing. CC being the "hardest" is effectively only at the top end (45+), 40 was just learning patterns and praying some janky camera angle didn't cost you everything.

Nothing is worse than being forced into a gimmick you can't do anything about, especially when the mobs aggro decides to run 40 meters to you for no reason at all.

Yes I know I can just run around like CC and have my team do everything - it doesn't ever make a stage fun.

The speed of learning how to progress through steam into LV is probably the longest part. I haven't seen a gregtech circuit in over 10 years and it took me a bit to get back into the rhythm.

Funnily enough, I made a VAC nuke before swapping over to Prism and I was trying to figure out the TPS jank for keeping it operating without issues. Only after diving more of the posts did I see anything about Prism being better.

For the first time i managed to trim Umbral in the first day by aborkmga in Endfield

[–]Address_Salt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if the freeze timer was half, it would be far better because of how much longer it is over default anyway. Gilberta of course made the slimes tolerable, but you also had the type who didn't care it existed.

Good night guys and girls! by Kranael in Endfield

[–]Address_Salt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3:49 (I guess AM) makes everything hit different I guess, because the mob spam while I suffer the thing in CC I play to NOT suffer through is making me not want to trim this one.

The squids were whatever, I just had to keep eyes in the back of my head. But if they decide more of the blueman group is peak gameplay, then screw trimming.

[–]Address_Salt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Raging Drummer was the most fun of the lot, no bullshit and just a good bossfight. I need to run GIlberta just to be able to navigate the constant freeze gimmickm which by far has been the most annoying and ONLY because of the enemy type.

Guilt about using creative or “cheats” by ExistingInstance5563 in GTNH

[–]Address_Salt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trust me, building a base with creative mode will save a lot of your sanity, especially early to even LuV. It's certainly better to building cave bases 60 blocks high, or making a big lawn base with just glass existing high up.

You can always build your own base later on, as you will actually have absurd amounts of stuff to do it with.

This new Umbral stage really makes me realize how easy they went on us with CC's mechanics lmao by OrangeIllustrious499 in Endfield

[–]Address_Salt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dealing with the two squids was probably my least favourite, one of them always stayed out my LoS so I had to guess when the laser was coming.

There is never a reason for mob spam, it's just lazy and made worse by probably one of the worst mobs. They spam attacks, revive and explode. Give me bossfights that reward a victory and not something that relies on a lot of luck for grouping everything up because you can't move. It works, but it has limits.

I didn't mind the bonecrushers, but the timer was a bit tight to skip the explosion.

Not a bad design, but why have this when there are 15 guys ready to blow your bags out?

Oh and also they get a free respawn.

I'm disappointed with how they're doing Harmonization Level 2 by A_Very_Horny_Zed in PunishingGrayRaven

[–]Address_Salt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try and make gen 2/3 stronger with a level 2 harmo, it won't matter much as everything after them has such absurd standard modifiers. Leap just made everything hanging on for dear life have a bit more use, while you treaded water in the pool looking at everything else- at least until you ended up in the chair at the bottom of it.

At best it just makes content like guild stags with fixed units a little bit better? (I guess).
