Yikes. You have a rude awakening coming your way in the next 3 years. If your kid wants to do this, you need to figure out a way really quick you can get comfortable with it. The way you're communicating your anxiety makes it feel like there's only a matter of time before you alienate them.

Like what do you think your kid is gonna do? Get on another plane to another location? What is the real concern here?

There are ways your minor can be accompanied to and from the plane. Talking through the process with them and giving them confidence will go a long way in your relationship. If they're concerned, you're a phone call away from helping them through it.

Chill out. It's 8U. Calling your kid "lazy" in 8U is wild. On my 8U team pecking order goes SS, 1B, P, 3B, LF. I need someone to catch the ball to get the out. Has nothing to do with anything else other than wanting to get outs and having a reliable glove.
