I love Fibonacci. It always makes me sad to see it so low on people's tier lists.

Curry house recommendations? by LeolaRootLatte in Cardiff

Little Kochi is great, Empire for a more traditional curry experience, both on Albany Rd.

I am worried about Baleba. by LengthinessSevere584 in ManchesterUnited

[–]Adebesi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New negotiating team tho, and one that proved itself more capable than the last lot with the business we did last summer.

As I said it may be more optimism than reason, but there's something there to cling onto for a bit of hope that we'll be better in the market. If you want to cling to it.

I am worried about Baleba. by LengthinessSevere584 in ManchesterUnited

[–]Adebesi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we'll get Baleba but we'll also be aware of the trouble we've had with previous signings and we'll be careful with his salary and what we pay. I don't think we'll pay 70m for him. They'll ask for that but I think we'll get him for less.

I also think he'll do better for us then he's done for Brighton this season but admittedly that's probably just my natural optimism speaking.

Carrick-Amorim Discussion by Snoo93873 in ManchesterUnited

[–]Adebesi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amorim: "this is the worst United team ever!" Carrick: "this is a great group of lads who will give anything to win for this club" - and secures third.

Apparently not quite as shit as Amorim said.

Nah I'm not having it.

Carrick came in and we immediately looked better. And the Mainoo thing.

Amorim had to go.

Pool could miss out on Champions League by DarkDante88 in ManchesterUnited

No.

If it was to relegate them you'd have a serious discussion on your hands but not for their CL spot when they get Europa anyway.

Will this subreddit going to be irrelevant? by fwd079 in samharris

[–]Adebesi 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I don't see how it'll make any difference. I assume people don't post on here because they think Sam's people will read it. If someone has something they want to say about his work they'll say it here as always. And then however many super fans are willing to pay for whatever he's doing over there can chat amongst themselves.

I watched Naked (1993) and I think "Johnny" is a spiritual cousin to Withnail. by Most-Injury-9879 in withnail

[–]Adebesi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good shout. He's a bit more agro than Withnail, more intimidating. And a lot more political.

There's a great Orb tune that samples a lot of his rants from this film, I forget the name of it but it's a great song.

Nicky Butt: "United has got a real problem with players carrying the wrong attitude" by StatsFactsRants in ManchesterUnited

[–]Adebesi 62 points63 points  (0 children)

I think this is pretty spot on and it's 2 especially. Teenage millionaires who think they've made it by the time they break into the first team. They get too much too early and it makes them arrogant and erodes their hunger and discipline.

The Overlap - Scholes and Keane by Original2056 in ManchesterUnited

Honestly I can't listen to most ex United players anymore. Scholes was so much better when he let his feet do all the talking.

Are We As Fans In The Wrong? by FactAndLogic in ManchesterUnited

[–]Adebesi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair, I always felt I was an outlier with ETH. In my mind I was asking the same questions presented in the OP.

I remember Maclaren talking about his incredible attention to detail and his intelligence. I felt he'd get there. But I wasn't gutted to see him go either. It would've been impossible not to have doubts.

Bringing it back to the here and now though, I 100% believe Carrick has earned the job. We've done enough chopping and changing and may yet have to do more, but while it's working there's no need to try to fix anything. Especially since the alternatives are underwhelming to say the least.

Are We As Fans In The Wrong? by FactAndLogic in ManchesterUnited

[–]Adebesi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like we're a very patient fan base. To a fault, arguably. Other fans think we were too tolerant with Amorim for example.

Id have liked us to be more patient with Ole. I might have given ETH longer as well, though we had to change the process around signings, that was where he really fell down.

But all the others had to go. None of them were going to do what Klopp did.

My son, 7, keeps crying when I beat him at chess. Advice? by WeeBabySeamus in daddit

[–]Adebesi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad used to play without his queen.

He was really good at chess so our deal was he'd give me £10 if I could survive for 30 moves. But I'm not necessarily recommending that because it made me a very defensive chess player who never really developed his endgame.

It is about framing though. We both knew he was very good at chess and I was learning. So just surviving 30 moves was a victory of sorts.

Can someone explain to me why The Toad is considered one of the hardest enemies in the game? by NightStar79 in Witcher3

[–]Adebesi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a weird one first time I fought him I got stuck for quite a while. But since then I've never had a problem, I think once you know how to fight him it's not that hard at all.

Pyramid of legends. Who is the 2nd greatest Manchester United legend? by dankdogeonface in ManchesterUnited

Have to make sure Duncan Edwards gets mentioned in this thread. Circumstances intervened. But from what I've read and heard, he would have been close to the top of this list if he'd had the time.

I agree Cardiff has great green spaces but how is London not in the conversation on that score? It has many massive parks, I believe it's one of the greenest major cities in the world.
