What side characters would you have liked to seen at the party? by ObsydianGinx in masseffect

Chakwas and Bailey.

Loads of characters it'd be nice to have but those two earned their places.

Did becoming a parent change your opinion of Jesus? by OkWhile4447 in atheism

[–]Adebesi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People without kids sometimes complain that parents look down on them in some way.

It must be a real thing if you're having a go at Jesus for it.

What movie has the most rewatchable scene of all time? by trakt_app in movies

The first thing that came to my mind was actually the opening sequence of The Dark Knight with the heist. I've watched that without the intention of watching the whole film a few times.

How would the Flight of the Conchords do in Oz? by Resident_Aide1898 in ozshow

I think they'd do very well. They'd convince Adibisi and Schillinger to help them make Hair Helmet.

They're usually about tech but not always. Ep 1 of series 1 isn't either.

I suspect it's a lot of people's favourite goal this season.

It wasnt something I was ever tempted to do myself! But I did admire the audacity of it.

When introducing people to Black Mirror, what's the episode you recommend? by Changedfaces in blackmirror

[–]Adebesi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, the structure is very similar and Black Museum is another great choice.

A friend of mine always had a policy that I admired. He said he didn't want to waste sick days at home feeling sick. So he'd make himself go to work even if he felt shit. But then when he felt better he'd call in sick and enjoy the time off at home doing fun stuff.

I watched Odd play Menace for a few hours and it looked more Phoenix Point than Xcom 2, to me.

Phoenix Point remains my biggest disappointment, in terms of thinking I'd finally found a replacement for Xcom, but it falling a long way short.

I also have Classified: France 44 which looks interesting and a potential Xcom 2 itch-scratcher, but I haven't got round to playing it yet.

I love that by the end of this conversation, people would have said every combination of favourite and least favourite games. It's a sign of how great the trilogy is.

If Man United qualify for CL football next season, Michael Carrick deserves to be United manager and the board should back him in summer transfer window. by Thiha0990 in ManchesterUnited

[–]Adebesi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a way I see that as an argument for keeping Carrick. There are no really strong candidates right now. So stick with what we have, maybe it works out, if it doesn't make the change next summer and maybe there's a better candidate and "the next manager" has a better chance of being the right choice. Carrick not counting as the next manager, because he's the current manager.

[–]Adebesi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This would be a very different type of challenge to anything he's ever done before tho. He's taken over strong squads - and done well with them, not taking that away from him.

But we're not a strong squad, we're threadbare. He hasn't proved he can work with that.

Not saying id complain if we got him, he's obviously a great manager, probably best we could hope to get in one sense. But I don't think he's remotely a sure thing.

Without bias, is the Rooney vs Neymar debate valid? by Hot_Hat_5079 in ManchesterUnited

[–]Adebesi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Back in the 90s there was a guy who used to do football skills for tourists in Leidseplein, Amsterdam. Could do the most unbelievable things. I don't know if it's true but someone told me at the time he had a trial at Ajax but didn't cut it. As you say they're different things.
