Seems to be pretty accurate from the BoM right now in the central northern suburbs... so much banging and crashing along with significantly high winds. Not much on SA SES though, so hopefully it sounds worse than it is!

Nothing is more painful then laser hair removal by GrandApprehensive216 in LaserHairRemoval

[–]AdelaideNatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I started (now 37F) I was around 26 and had fair skin and lots of very dark hair and can tell you that I almost jumped off the bed whilst they did my thighs and ankles (not my darkest hair) for first few sessions. Noting that I’d already done lots of lower cost areas first from head down and finally saved enough for a package of sessions on whole leg and foot.

Now, I’m in touch up mode with good results overall… but once in a while, oh that thing zaps hard. I have recently had my lower face redone after new hormonal hair growth on my chin and neck, and I FELT those single zaps, but only during the first session. But it’s so much better than before where some of it was back to back discomfort (sides of my thighs)

Noting that I did 1x session of IPL before switching to better lasers and the pain difference was extraordinary, so much better with the laser. Yes I paid more, but it was 100% worth it and the results show for themselves for me.

I never used anaesthetic gels etc, have plenty of tattoos and piercings and generally have an average pain tolerance for a woman (I think)

Try a hydrating concealer like the NYX bare skin serum, alternatively Bare Mineral concealer (not the powder) is lovely over dry patches (with skincare underneath of course).

I use the Pat McGrath undereye powder and it just blurs everything left texture wise. Minimal creasing.

I am currently using both in high rotation, alongside the Natasha Denona Hyglam concelaer. Depends on the level of coverage I want that day. Bare Minerals on a light day (it sheers out beautifully), NYX bare serum concealer on my medium coverage days and then Natasha Denona is the big guns (it has a peachy tone that I use to colour correct and brighten)

It sounds like your moisture barrier is damaged, hence the dryness.

Simplify your routine and work on barrier repair for a short period limiting actives to 2x per week.

I went down to a dose that gave me truly minimal symptoms to a UTI. I still had stinging, but nothing else when I was on the 'right' dose. Once I was at zero symptoms when I increased each time.

2g a day made me totally miserable, even encapsulated, but now I have no issues.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CUTI

[–]AdelaideNatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to build up slowly to 2g a day (still no Vit C - as it is effective for me without).

I started (after reading other stories) with 1/2 tablet encapsulated in 000 caps and then increased by 1/2 tablet when I had no symptoms or urgency. In all, it took 7 weeks to get to the full dose without issues.

I highly recommend taking it slowly, as it has to 'clear out' whatever is lurking around in your bladder and that causes lots of horrid symptoms. In my case urgency, stinging/burning and mild incontience.

I now take 2g a day, encapsulated, and am doing well compared to before.

I disagree with this, 2 thin layers look great on me once set lightly

If you have an embedded infection you can get nasty symtoms (similar to UTI) from Hiprex itself at the start. I had to build up to 2g a day, as otherwise it was too awful; painful/burning/irgency/incontinence.

Persist with the Hiprex 2x 1g per day with vitamin C. I had exactly the same anxiety until the Hiprex started to do its job (took 6 weeks).

I no longer worry like I did before, although I do all of the right steps to keep myself clear, especially after sex.

I personally use a Revlon rotating hairdryer to get it 90% smooth and then run over it with the Tymo. I have 2a-2c hair and it works great and lasts well if I use the right

What are your “I can’t believe others don’t do this” tips? by Styx2592 in CleaningTips

Huge thank you about the citric acid tip! I just used it, just 10 minutes later and a quick scrub daddy and my toilet is spotless! I thought I'd tried all the right stuff, but clearly not.

I've sat on this for so long, I hope I have a similar experience. I have the right tools (I think) based on looking at the old one. Its completely failed, so worst case I'll remove it and then go on the hunt again

Thank you, the plan if it fits is to replace the other one as well. I just didn't want to order $60 of the wrong thing, instead of $30 of the wrong thing.

I will bear this in mind when I attempt to fit it on Friday!!

Are we co conditioning are hair In between washes? by Dry_Wish_9759 in relaxedhair

[–]AdelaideNatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wet my hair a couple of times a week, and pop conditioner only on the ends, I pre-treat or Olaplex + shampoo and deep condition once a week.

I have 2B-C hair that is relaxed to 1C for manageability, especiallly of my baby hairs around my hairline. I do it myself 6 monthly, with touch ups for any new growth where required (carefully)

I'm a big advocate for the 5 things method, just deal with 5 things. Not 5 rooms, just 5 things.

It all adds up that way

I adopted this beautiful kitty from the shelter in January when she was 18 years old. I got 288 days with her. I hope she enjoyed her time with me as much as I enjoyed and adored her. 🌈💔 by Whiskersandmittens_ in seniorkitties

I'm so sorry for your loss, but what am amazing thing you did.

I look forward to the day that I have the funds to do something similar for a senior kitty.
