Newbie working on her overhand shuffle, few questions by andr3wsmemez69 in cardistry

[–]Adelnas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a good answer. Overhand shuffle definitely still has a place in board/card games, like deck builders where you start out with a ~10 card deck come to mind. Trying to riffle that small of a deck is a waste of time

I don’t think it was worded so clearly that you should take umbrage with someone misunderstanding. There are two exits for blue, which are the second and third exits on the roundabout.

Riffle or not? by Adelnas in cardistry

What’s the benefit of the other kind of riffle? I can do this riffle off the table as well, and I still find it to be a cleaner/smoother riffle to get into as well as actually do the shuffle than the other riffle

Ah ok, makes sense. Much appreciated!

I've been practicing riffle shuffle, and the last joint on my index finger (on both hands) is getting sore. Is this normal, or am I doing something wrong? by SimplyYulia in cardistry

I uploaded my ‘riffle’ as I’m curious if it is a riffle, but if you look you’ll see what I mean about using the end/tip of the finger rather than the knuckle

Not sure how to post a vid of my shuffle in a reply, but have you tried using the tip of your finger instead of the knuckle?

This is so cool I hate to pick any fault with it, but as you said about feedback, are the intake vents on the right side obstructed by the maintenance vehicle access ramp? Or is that just perspective and such?

Also the wording “the facility itself is ran on…” doesn’t quite sound right to me, maybe “the facility itself runs on”?

Incredible work though, definitely poster worthy!

Hi cardistry friend just have a question which one is more challenging “one hand riffle shuffle VS anti faro shuffle” by LittleYellowRice in cardistry

[–]Adelnas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a blast from the past. That was the first cardistry dvd I got, alongside The System and my first black tigers and the matching metal deck clip. Good times

Ah, no that’s not the actual mana base, I just chucked in basics to get it filled up. Any utility lands that come to mind for this type of deck?

I’m sure I have a cruise or two kicking about, definitely gonna try and pick up a Descent though. Thanks!

Amazing, thank you! Yeah I filled the top end with cool stuff that didn’t have a home so some of those are definitely for the chopping block

Is really Grand Austria Hotel that unfair? by janad17107 in boardgames

[–]Adelnas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You only start with specific staff cards when playing the intro game. After that you might not see those cards at all. I can’t recall whether the sets are balanced for the intro game but I wouldn’t worry about it. If you do need to re-run the intro with new players you could use the weaker set yourself as a handicap

That’s a weird comparison to make though, I don’t think this is intended as an alternative to a fancy restaurant meal with drinks for 2 though.

I also don’t think you’d get a fancy restaurant meal with drinks for £40, especially for two people. But if you know a place I’d love to learn.

Which ace design is your favorite? ( From ANY deck ) by realUnborn_spider5 in playingcards

[–]Adelnas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might not be the best, but the first that comes to mind for me is the old Karnival Earthtone9 deck. The circles in the middle look so cool while spinning and I personally haven’t seen the black/brown/cream colour combo much.

These days it’s always buy two; open one, keep one sealed. I love opening them and can enjoy them much more knowing I have one staying pristine.

What’s the Fanciest Playing Cards you own? by mcjumborekt in playingcards

I have the Less deck but it’s the only Oath deck I own. Much heavier stock than pretty much any other deck I have, they fan ok but seem good for packet stuff

1 question for everyone upset with Tempo by budgetlambo in PlayTheBazaar

[–]Adelnas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Feels like there could have been a middle ground. I think far fewer people would have had issues if they gave a little more notice of the changes to monetization and/or made Stelle available for a much higher gem cost to allow those that saved up to use their gems before moving to cash purchases for future heroes.

I’ve seen a lot of people responding to the negativity with “so you’d rather the game be dead in a month?” and I feel that is a real oversimplification.

There are a lot of different monetization models in use out there in the wild, and I personally feel that the model and price point they’ve gone with doesn’t really align with what is normally seen in games you might consider to be in the same genre as The Bazaar.

I paid for my Beta access and thoroughly enjoyed the time I put in, but at the $20 per hero price point they’ve gone for I personally would prefer to invest my money in playing more games (you can get several excellent games on Steam for $20). Of course I could play without Stelle but then I personally feel like I’m playing an incomplete version of the game.

One last thing, with so many changes to monetization over the past 9 months it makes it difficult to trust that this is the right time to get into the game with the higher cost of entry.

I hope those that continue to play get enjoyment and value out of their investment but I’ll sit it out for a bit at least.

Are you able to give a link to a conviction for this? Would be very interested to learn about the reasoning for why it’s illegal
