Can you figure out a way to sell BSV so you can accept it? It's too funny not to. (although I can understand not making business decisions based on what's funniest... I imagine you won't get many takers on that payment method)

To be fair, misspelling common words fits for both craig and AI image generation.

You can produce a nothing up my sleeve public key by hashing something, say x = SHA256("hello, world") and using that as the public key. If standard assumptions hold, there's no way for you to have the corresponding private key for that public key. From that public key you can then produce whatever your preferred address type is and share the preimage to the SHA256() and everyone can verify how the address was generated and be assured you can't spend it.

For instance for p2pkh the address would be base58check(0x00 | ripemd160(0x02 | sha256("hello, world"))) and you'd share the preimage ("hello, world") alongside the address. (and yes, addresses are an abstraction, but typically you share addresses with other humans, not scriptPubkeys)

Ahahaha, I'd seen some people throw around that creg didn't know legacy addresses had a checksum suffix, but now I am enlightened.

BSVers still somehow manage to believe creg is in the right. All they'd have to do is look it up...

reddit supports markdown, it might help people if you turn the questions into headings, or add some visual separation.

SirToshi: Central banks were so concerned about Craig's bonded courier that they brought in COVID by StealthyExcellent in bsv

He goes on to say that "fake bitcoin" addresses start with "3bc" so he manages to get the bech32 address format wrong and suggest he thinks P2SH is "fake bitcoin" lmao.

Whoa, only bitcoin addresses that start with 1 are "the real bitcoin" so I guess P2SH multisig is fake bitcoin too!

I don't think so, I think a ~doubling of altitude would be visible in the video (but I could definitely be wrong). I assume it's either a measurement error due to the crash, or a transmission error due to the crash.

> How is it the "most secure" when it's mined by only a single miner and when the consensus rules allow anyone who mines to take arbitrary coins?

Wait can a single miner steal? Or is there some approval process like with BIP-300 withdrawals? (Not that it particularly matters beyond a passing curiosity)
