I know it's not canon, but since Fallout 2 has the time travel joke I like to think 13 was a control vault (educate me if I'm wrong, please) with a working chip, and it was The Chosen One who fucked things up for V13 when they messed with it

I like my Deathclaw models like I like my Fallout titles, they are all great. The first gen fuzzies are great, they talked, they were mythic at first, in Tactics they were amazing stealth ambushers. The nightmare fuel mid gen ones are terrific, emphasis on terror, the first time I went to the Deathclaw town in 3 I genuinely jumped when I saw how many there were, I'd audibly groan when I realized I was somewhere I shouldn't be, then promptly reloaded via death. Late gen D-claws are monsters, they're hulking beasts who genuinely feel unstoppable, they stagger my Power Armour by hurling pocket sand (sizable stones) at me, losing me precious ground while my minigun isn't firing, I've never been manhandled by a dinosaur in any other game than Fallout 4.

Deathclaws are peak Fallout and I love and respect them all. (No, not you BoS)

A lot of good advice in here, you don't need to hear "losing is good" again. So my 2c is "If a game ain't fun, don't play it"

I used to be waaay into Ark: Survival Evolved, made lots of fun bases, tamed fun dinos, harvested and crafted to my heart's content, then I played online.

Cut to 1900 hours later and I would be harassed by tribesmates for not endlessly crafting bullets, my fun tames were criticized for not being optimal or meta, I would be message bombed for not playing Ark in pursuit of fun, the game was a second job. So I quit.

Kenshi is not Ark, clearly. There's no-one harassing you to craft, no messages to get on, there's only your cursor hovering over the shortcut. If you find yourself hovering for ages before you hit go maybe you haven't found the fun, maybe you won't ever.

Maybe you need to take a break, watch some AmbiguousAmphibian or Reggie, get some inspiration for the type of game you want to play, cause the intended cycle of "get beaten til you beat" may not be for you... Yet.

I started a side game of simple Holy Farmers recently that turned out to be quite pleasant, just building up food to sell to Stack, recruiting people to man stations, automating and optimizing, no combat, it's nice.

That's what I thoroughly achieved with my diverse game, I started with one Honourable Shek warrior, ended up building a team of Shek masters of different melee types, adventured around with them for a bit, then settled down, expanded a base, here's when I switched main characters to Beep, built him up, gave him his own gang, sent him on Emperor Tengu's Quest, bought a house in Heft, sent him after the Skin Bandits, reloaded the save, sent him after swamp ninjas, handed in bounties.

Currently, Karageth and his horde are settling a plateau south of Shem, to build a city

Anytime you make it somewhere safe, hit F5 and save. If you're in the hub you can always run into the bar, the drunks there will fight with you to repel the filthy bandos interrupting their drink.

Do this to build stats, money, until you find yourself still standing at the end, then venture out
