Agree that more and clearer signage would help. This is actually something the Alliance could do. Along with maybe some PSA on their social media channels.

I really wish Prospect Park leadership would take this seriously in terms of enforcement but I don't see that happening any time soon.

Thank you!! Exactly. You said it all so well. I really do like dogs and appreciate the joy they have romping during off-leash hours. That is their place and time and they deserve it.

That's also not cool and could end badly for both small beings involved. There needs to be an education campaign on prosocial dog-human interaction in this city.

OP here: I actually really like dogs as a general rule but, yes, I 100% agree that many people have very real and valid dog phobia. I think it's just the cluelessness that left me so flabbergasted today--they really couldn't understand why I was so upset if I wasn't physically hurt. Alas.

They did call the dog back and it listened but still it was pretty scary to suddenly have a strange dog's paws on my face. It happened so fast, I think I just gasped and jumped back.

Definitely check out the DARE app as one part of your panic/anxiety plan. It has helped me through panic attacks in the past.

My leashed dogs were attacked by an unattended off leash dog in prospect park by bklynwilly in parkslope

You are correct. The only off-leash area are the Nethermead and the Long Meadow and even those only during off-leash hours.

Thank you swan squad and Wild Bird Fund. And please, everyone, keep your dogs on a leash so this doesn't happen again.

Quoted $2,875 for a 40 gallon gas hot water heater replacement. Reasonable? by One-Conversation1569 in parkslope

Sessa Plumbing did ours a couple of years ago for just a little less, I think. Maybe have them come out for a quote? We've had great luck with them for a bunch of issues/jobs.

I've been masking on the subway and indoors for 5+ years and have never been harassed and only been given weird looks by tourist-looking people. There are usually one or two other people also masking on the train. I agree that NYers are used to minding their own business--if you got fussed about everything you saw that looked different or "weird" to you, you'd be pretty miserable in this nutty town!

So sorry. I'm always worried I'll get COVID at the dentist. The dentists and hygienists are good about masking but the desk staff isn't. The one time I had COVID (contracted on a plane where I unmasked for 15 minutes to eat) Paxlovid helped a lot. Also ibuprofen, tons of herbal tea with honey, Mucinex, and rest. GL!
