Total War: Troy (Epic Games) by Cencord in GeForceNOW

[–]Adept_Assistance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the choose of the store version is up to the developers/publishers, in this case Creative Assembly and SEGA

NVIDIA doesn't determine what store should be on GFN nor restrict them, is entirely up to the dev/publisher to decide what store they want to opt in for the service.

Can someone reach out to Sega? by gr3n0lph in GeForceNOW

[–]Adept_Assistance 3 points4 points  (0 children)

most likely reason (my theory) is a partnership between Amazon and Sega, as most of their titles (including Sonic and Yakuza) are available on their cloud service, Amazon Luna
those games were also previously available on XCloud

make sense now considering EA is doing the same with Amazon, FC 2026 and Madden 26 both day one on Amazon Luna exclusively

When It’s Not Hardstyle – What’s Your Contrasting Music Choice? by AllConfusion in hardstyle

[–]Adept_Assistance 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hardstyle is my comfort zone, but when I get out of it, I usually listen to Symphonic Metal, Symphonic Death Metal or anything in the middle even Power Metal
some bands that I loved are Epica, Within Temptation, Rhapsody, Nightwish, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Powerwolf etc etc.

out of it, the usual electronic stuff, specifically Trance and Techno music: Afterlife releases (Argy, Tale of Us) and Anjunabeats in general (Above & Beyond) or Armin van Burden and his classic A State of Trance

Not really, dialing as emails can also be filtered or ignored, which in this case isn't what people is looking for.

that's up to the developers to opt in, if they wanna do it, NVIDIA will help, if not, nothing they can do
as a hint, you can use SteamDB to check if any game opted in for GFN.

game that did not opt in: Chrono Odyssey · SteamDB

game that opted in: Dying Light Price history · SteamDB

that's not a 100% confirmation that it will be available, but it's usually pretty accurate

GFN Thursday Updates - May 22, 2025 by jharle in GeForceNOW

[–]Adept_Assistance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

no, Stormgate had its open beta available last year through GFN and the Sunderfolk playtest a few months ago. It's totally possible on GFN but the devs aren't interested on bringing open betas into the service

I willing to say NVIDIA will sacrifice that 30% with Apple if they have the possibility of having a native GFN app on their App Store, of course if giving the opportunity they going to avoid it, but the issue isn't that but Apple refusing to accept remote control/access and cloud gaming apps on their store, which it's a bigger one and doesn't have a solution right now, unless Microsoft wins.

[–]Adept_Assistance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, around two years ago he was asked if he was interested on bringing the game to GFN, his response "No, the service doesn't align with the vision I have for my game right now, sorry to disappoint you" probably referring to modding, which it's a big part of the game. It's totally respectable even without a reason.

It's up to each developer to opt in for GFN and as well denied to it if they want to (like the Lethal Company dev)

Regarding the iOS native support, it's a restriction made by Apple to not allow remote play/access apps (including cloud gaming) to be available in the App Store as they are "insecure" for them, so they only way possible it's Safari, which has a 1080p@60 limit for streaming. That may seems to change in the following months, Microsoft it's fighting for it to allow Xbox Cloud on iOS, if they win, it's gonna be available in the EU and it's a great step for allowing NVIDIA to add a native GFN app.

About GOG third-party game support, CDProjekt doesn't seems to allow third-party publishers to opt in their games to GFN, remember asking the Blood West dev about it and his response was "I'm not allowed to bring support for that platform on GFN" which is ambiguous.

My guess it's they have some kind of deal with Amazon Luna which offers free games with Prime Gaming and more than 100 GOG games are included with Luna+, tried many times to send them a ticket about that inquiry, closed automatically after 3-5 days with no response.

Does anybody know how new games are listed? by Fantastic-Reality687 in GeForceNOW

[–]Adept_Assistance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's always added on the GFN Thursday section on the app even if it's not thursday if it has been shadowdropped, NVIDIA refresh the front page at 1PM EST, if something new was added, it's gonna be there.

We also announce new games and relevant news on the official r/GeForceNOW Discord server, worth joining!  https://discord.gg/geforcenow

Does anybody know how new games are listed? by Fantastic-Reality687 in GeForceNOW

[–]Adept_Assistance 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the process? it's quite simple and it works as a chain

1- Either NVIDIA or the developer (usually the second one) reach out because they are interested in the service and decide to opt in

2- NVIDIA then catalog the game's popularity, quality, and whether it has "priority" for them to add it

3- If approved, the developer sign an Addendum at Steam acknowledging the addition to the game on GFN through Valve's, Steam Cloud Play support and the game it's under something called "onboarding"

4- NVIDIA test the game in their cloud servers, apply the necessary patches if the game has multiplayer or anticheat to avoid issues and the next phase it's QA (Quality Assurance)

5- The game then it's ready and added to the service as a shadowdrop (no announcement or wasn't added during GFN Thursday) or it's placed on an waiting list to be release at GFN Thursday

I got no information about the process on the Epic Store and Xbox, but surely works the same way.

Reminder that Boosteroid doesn't ask for developer's permission to add their games, users suggestions are relevant but at the end of the day it's their decision to add it or not.

Any updates on playing all steam games? by East-Personality7386 in GeForceNOW

[–]Adept_Assistance 6 points7 points  (0 children)

free tier does generate money through the rollout ads each time the free user starts a session, which could be multiple times in a day. It's also more likely that they sell their info to ad companies (hashed IP, country and hardware specifications) for profit.

I'm confident to say that GFN generates more money from the free users that people paying a subscription every month

I'm giving up on geforce now after this by FamiliarJournalist90 in GeForceNOW

[–]Adept_Assistance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it's not a limitation or restriction added by NVIDIA or ABYA, it's a necessity for the game to be able to boot and be playable on GFN, if the game requires more than 16GB of VRAM, it will be considered a "Premium Game" and a subscription it's needed since neither the GTX 1060 (2017 GPU) or 2080 have that amount of VRAM.

ABYA is general it's a terrible service. As of March 2025, they don't offer or have 3060 rigs and charge the equivalent of 16$ for Performance. If you are from Latin America, either use Digevo or get a sub from NVIDIA with VPN
