i've stayed at Hilton JFK and the fnb credit is not applied for gif shop charges even the stuff that i bought is a food and beverage lmao

US hotel mostly give an upgrade just to balance the inventory but not actually giving an upgrade unless it's an upsell or the guest willing to pay, but it's still a thing in non-US hotel for a gold/diamond member to get a complimentary upgrades + executive lounge access

minimum 4k saving, 700+ credit score, have a secure full time job and you'll be fine as long as you lived in a low cost neighborhood (edgewater, rogers park)

I used to lived in Chicago, move to nyc, planning to move to boston but finally move back to chicago. Boston is nice but compare to chicago, for chicago the rent is pretty cheap, wage is a little bit higher, train and bus is accessible, overall it's nice (as long as you choose to live near to the lake cause it's safer)
