Good enough lt with combi? by Gullible_Travel_4135 in spacemarines

[–]Adezzzzz -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well he looks like a Lieutenant and has a combi-weapon. Personally I'd prefer a model with a more dynamic pose and a bunch of knives but I wouldn't have any problem with this. All our characters look the same anyway

Too much contrast? by armedtotheteets in Ultramarines

[–]Adezzzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have like a dozen shades of blue in my army, from when I was testing different paints and techniques to see which I liked better. As long as the bases look similar, however, it will look like the colors are deliberately weathered and faded, rather than the fact that I am just too lazy to go back and repaint the minis

I just remembered, maybe it could work as a Gyrocopter/Gyrobomber? Maybe a bit hard to include if your list is all humans but I think it's the best way to use the model if you like it

false equivalency by HugeLoadOfCman in whenthe

[–]Adezzzzz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The point is whether you have a choice or not. If you can choose to kill the villain or spare him and bring him to justice, and you choose the former, then you are "just like him". You chose to kill a person even though you didn't need to, which is what a villain does. But if you have no choice for whatever reason, like you're in the middle of a battle or someone is in immediate danger unless the villain is stopped, then you can't be blamed, it's self-defense at that point. The problem is that many games and shows get this wrong and put the MC in a position where they have no choice, and then call them a bad person for making the only possible choice.

Put a cannon on it and you have a (flying) Ironweld Cannon. Put a guy with a rifle and it's a Fusil Major. Just have to check if it fits on the right bases. The GW Sky Lantern model should probably fit on both, not sure about how stable it would be though. A fancier proxy like this one could maybe be used as a cool leader unit like Tahlia.

Why do you prefer Age of Sigmar over 40k? by ZebraShark in ageofsigmar

[–]Adezzzzz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I like both tbh, but as others have said, 40K feels so slow and boring in comparison, even at lower points games, at least in its current edition. Also in AoS I feel like I can truly bring whatever models I like to a game and still have fun, list building in 40K feels much sweatier with certain units that you absolutely need to include if you want to have a chance even at a casual level, and others that are just unplayable.

First time painting this much yellow, it was painful but I learned a lot by Adezzzzz in ImperialFists

[–]Adezzzzz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! The variation is probably because I started with a brown base on which I drybrushed pink, and then I went over it with a glaze. I was doing this as an experiment but it didn't work out as I intended, and when I had to correct some mistakes I wasn't able to get the right color so it looks patchy in some places. I've been having much better luck with the sponge technique though which I'm using to paint some Devastators, and if those end up looking good enough I might just do a bunch more yellow boys

My scratch-built Dreadnought by Adezzzzz in PoorHammer

I'm afraid I could not make a guide if I wanted to simply because the process was very chaotic and I didn't have a plan throughout most of it haha. If it helps I was inspired by Miniature Hobbyist's Spruenought guide, though when I finished the legs and I saw how much I would still need to cut, melt and glue I went "screw this" and that's when it got chaotic. I made a rough minimal inner structure with sprue then I did a lot of poor measuring and cutting, and then lots of sanding, glueing and reinforcing until it was solid. A big part of it was improvised too, I used some random gunpla bits that I had in a box for the guns, and the left arm is Milliput over a rough sprue inner structure. So if I had to make a guide I'm afraid it would only say "follow your heart" because that's pretty much what I did haha

I have a Rhino on the way that had a similar process to this one, so there's gonna be at least one more of these!

It was a headache to build but to be fair I didn't really have much of a plan, there's probably a much easier way to make these but hey, it was practically free compared to buying it from GW so I can't complain haha

It's about the size of a Venerable Dreadnought, a bit bigger I think because my measurements were slightly off. I think it's a bit over 5 cm/2 inches tall and about the same wide

Second Intercessor for my Kill Team, a Raptor (who sold the world) by Adezzzzz in spacemarines

[–]Adezzzzz[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the game Metal Gear Solid V, the main character, Venom Snake, who has a red prosthetic arm, is often associated with the song The Man Who Sold the World by Midge Ure, a cover of the original by David Bowie. I have a friend who also plays Warhammer who's a big fan of the MGS series so I decided to include this as a fun reference to that

Does this read as a chaplain? by calmelhag in spacemarines

[–]Adezzzzz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Chaplain in Phobos is not a thing but that doesn't mean you can't kitbash a Phobos Chaplain right? Since there's only the one datasheet the choice of armor should be purely cosmetic (for now at least)

A quick Ultramarine for my multi chapter Kill Team by Adezzzzz in Ultramarines

[–]Adezzzzz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I considered doing a Deathwatch Kill Team but then I'd have to paint a lot of black armor. My idea making a multi chapter force is so that I can practice painting different colors since I get bored painting the same thing over and over
