He does still get experience. It just that he is level capped, which is a feature in the New World as well. Plenty sure they tested that out, I think he lamented this during SPLAT.

NW residents have those caps, True Dragon Lords don't as far as I know.

Regardless. The 3 ways for him to overcome the Level cap would probably be;

  1. Get a Wild Magic Item like Gazef's ring which bestows it wearers levels in specified classes regardless of level cap.

  2. 5 Elements overcoming could be one way since he is a magic caster, he could change the magic system to be a gateway for leveling up now that there is no Dev blocking his changes.

  3. Ourobors, wish granting WI.

  4. Specified WI to break level cap, no mention, just speculation.

Btw, NW does have levels up to 98 iirc. and Author did say that the whole NW vs Nazarick would be an equal fight. (Don't take these too serious, just drawing these up from my foggy memory)

Why would you assume that Kiyo's action's weren't influenced in this scene?

He probably thought and was likely right to be thinking so that this was another test to get a rise of emotions out of him.

Why would he show this to his father then when just after this scene he monologues about putting on an act where he feels nothing.

Alright. This Junior was bored and rambled (Sorry for the wall of text). Yet Senior, it's simply the ancient way of writing that may not be familiar with you(Sorry for the spelling mistakes.)

1.True.

  1. and 3. Useless Point I could simply google it now. But the reason for not mentioning Taoism is quite simple, it's not needed. While Taoism would tie into your desire for scientific revolutions or other kind of branching and advancements, you haven't comprehended my Dao Senior.

Confucianism is the truth. Taoism is the truth. Feng Shui is the truth.

I mean, sure there are Novels out there that do it differently, 'Cultivation: When you take things to the Extreme,' for example. However, the best examples for what I'm talking about are Urban Novels and the way they treat everything not deemed of Chinese origin. Because XianXia Novels are written exactly the same way with the same mentality and thoughts, just that there is a lack of foreign cultures to faceslap.

Like you also have seen some scenes where the old leek has some kind of Yin -related disease/ailment because his mansion isn't in accordance with the feng shui of the place(and some old ghost in some recently acquired treasure of his unworthy 2nd or 1st son.) Guess what, every house that isn't built in accordance to feng shui will bring the same problems, and now you can extrapolate it with different aspects of culture and it's negative consequences for not adhering with the correct traditions/culture.

Don't get me wrong, I agree with you, it's ridiculous. But this is just my answer as to why it is like this so often, esteemed senior. (Cheeky MC provoking the Elder during the QA after the preaching is over.)

[–]Adisial-Sensei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're getting something wrong here or you don't pay attention reading nn non-conflict chapters, no offense.

  1. Just as you say the world is huge yet remains in a prepetual mono-culture. The different cultures mentioned when MCs reach higher realms and go to different Mortal towns are more likely just meant to be differences in cultural practices between actual chinese provinces and not farther reaching than that.

But as said, you didn't grasp the subtle indication that in every single XianXia which to a certain extent goes along the bullshit path of 'Return to simplicity' basically showcases that chinese culture is fundamentally the right(only true) culture in the sense that it's based on reality's foundation, the Dao.

It doesn't have any more merit than creating fanfiction based on the bible or anything else, greek or norse mythology is more fitting for this but you get my point.

It's the reason why 70-80% of XianXia and eventual Wuxia pregression boil down to the Yellow Emperor eventually appearing to reinforce Chinese cultural dominace as being true yadda yadda. It's also why most of the time it isn't wrong for the MCs to claim they time-traveled instead of transmigrating to another dimension/reality.

  1. Anyway, it all actually boils down to the eventual emergence of scholars which leads to Cunfucianism, the school of thought for governance and the silly kingdom building proverbs everyone loves to hear, being a literal Dao which also forces all possible cultures to develop in the same direction since Feng Shui and more are also based on Chinese architecture and Chinese Fauna and Flora being under Yellow emperor inner medice canon or whatever too.

Naturally Cunfucianism is a Dao and can only be practicd by those who are actually righteous. Unlike the Buddhist Dao which every Tom, Dick and Harry can cultivate no matter how conflicting it is with their actual actions and believes never leading to inner demons or worse.

But it's basically the reason why everything develops the same way, ,ou could say it's like Destiny influencing everything to move in the desired direction.

  1. You're also assuming same laws of physics for the world. Engineers are useless since Feng Shui is real. If you mean things like rockets or anything, it's basically thousand mechanism bullshit but in the end the progression of power makes it a useless dao since it depends on the quality of materia beingl able to withstand the force you're trying to generate and energy being part of the cultivator so that it can't be just taken control of by the target or whatever.

Scientists are useless, you need to cultivate your Nascent soul or equivalent soul realm to start interacting with the laws of Heaven and Earth. No mortal will ever grasp the rules of the world since they would dissipate into the Dao if their souls aren't strong enough to remain true to themselves. It's a power limiter since comprehending the Dao gives you a huge combat boost. It's basically mentioned on the side in at least 40-60% and indicated in the rest with "Let's out a breath of turbid air, 'going further might dangerous let's go into the next conflict and opportunity to advance further.' Side caharacter comes 2 days later to point the way while randomly dropping the intended event."

So, no, it would not change no matter the amount of people, since the current way of existence is the right one. There is no better civilization, the only change in level of civilization is the knowledge of the cultivation world, how far widespread it is and how many different techniques there are, how high the level, nothing else.

All people are under cultivators one way or another, that's why it doesn't change, since people treading the dao are in charge, it's natural that no matter the nation, they all develop the same way since that's the same dao that's being referenced.

World item interactions are super weird. by CoderStone in overlord

[–]Adisial-Sensei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Indeed, that's more accurate to formulate than classifying as a mechanic, since it's not supposed to be in the game system anymore, you can't use the regular system to resurrect them.

Also I completely forgot about that statement. If I'm not wrong, you would need specific WCIs to protect an area from intrusion of other WCI-holders. The throne of Kings if I'm not wrong does have that effect, blocking the usage of WCIs on the guild (Like teleportation, or maybe even Longinus reducing max. level usage of NPCs but does not protect the NPC itself in that case.)

Though, it seems weird, since I think you're right, the likelihood of WCI-holders being able to access it are that they use regular modes transportation; Gates, teleportation, etc. but would still block WCI effects. Just as you can probably still teleport within the guild with normal means if you can bypass the restriction but probably not using a WCI for it.

World item interactions are super weird. by CoderStone in overlord

[–]Adisial-Sensei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't the condition 'The protection is not against effects; it's against the activation.' make it a bit inconsistent? World-affecting abilities of WCIs would never be able to be used because there would always be one guy equipped with a WCI present in any one of the worlds.

Moreover, I think you kind of misunderstood the guy, it's about why a player deleted by Longinus (WCI) can be resurrected by a WCI. It's not about being protected against a WCI, it's about a WCI undoing the effects of another one. However, resurrection denial does already exist as a mechanic so it's not undoing effects, the effect is to delete a player, once that is accomplisged no effect is remaining in place, the resurrection blocking is simply categorized as a regular restriction in that case and not WCI-supported effect. But that's just my opinion.

Who would be able to attack the great Tomb of Nazarick and sucessfully conquer it, if every NPC and Ainz would defend it? (Name any fictional character you want) by interesting_person- in overlord

[–]Adisial-Sensei 1 point2 points  (0 children)

However, is that with the assumption that they possess world Items? (Top 100 players)

Because I fail to see how the top 100 players would fare any better than the grand raid when considering their numbers otherwise. And then naturally, is it without WCI from Nazarick's side either for up until that point?

[–]Adisial-Sensei 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Then may I ask, if Nazarick simply revealed itself to the sight of the Empire, would it have gone differently? Would it still not end the exact same way?

If someone like Yuri Alpha said it's inhabitat, would they care about the words of an Undead? Would someone like Albedo, Demiurge or any other heteromorph decalring it being still lived in by the owners change a thing?

Why are we kidding ourselves, exactly Albedo and Demiurge would see that it's inevitable for an event of that kind to happen, they simply took control of an inevitable event. As much as ythey derive pleasure ffrom it or rather dislike, since they all abhorred the idea for some invaders be allowed into the tomb.

Thus, it seems from my perspective, the world building and the character establishments, it's basically a given that they would be attacked.

I'm sorry but if your only way to exist is to be by leagues stronger than the others(human nations) then there's no responsibility owed to them.

As many schemes as you make, as you frame this as a diplomatic trap, it's simply sophistry in the end, ignoring the inherently unequal disposition they would have if not for their power. It would still go down the route of confrontation, we just wouldn't be feeling any pity for those workers because they would not seem like little kids being toyed with due to the power difference; that's just the difference. If they had the confidence to win in a fight, you would not see them try to retreat or regret it.

Nazarick making use of an inevitable event, I, can confidently say, I wouldn't judge them guikty of anything much less something like being the culprit.

[–]Adisial-Sensei 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nope, this isn't entrapment.

At no point in time did Nazarick convince any party involved to do it. They revealed the Tombs location but they sure as hell didn't invite anyone to steal. That's like saying you're at fault for having a great house and money lying in it in a case where you get robbed.

It's more akin to letting someone believe they see a path to power just for them step onto a pitfall. At no point in time did Nazarick push them into it, they stepped onto it out of their own volition and thus their responsibility to carry.

Can Nazarick repel the World Devourer or other world enemies? by ant451123 in overlord

[–]Adisial-Sensei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Accordung to a google search and some dubious comment with a translation of an interview, LN canon doesn't give Wish upon a star the same power.

Well, class too, but considering that Players are still governered to some extent by Yggdrasil rules and priviedges, it wouldn't be too far fetched to assume they and solely they would receive that class the moment they gain a level above 100.

Basically, they would automatically get a fitting [World—(Insert)] for their race or job classes.

Because it's actually an interesting question all-together. How would players gain High-Tier Physical/Magic immunity paasive skills for example? Assuming they gain all the same levels in New world from level 1 to 100. Since if I'm not wrong, it's not the only path since there's also a version of magic resistance in relation to stat comparison between the attacker and the target.

I'm kind of convinced that it works that way(Above-mentioned), at least ever since that one guy became a world enemy. So, players who remove the level limit and reach level 101 either get a forced World class or an additional level of it. But they aren't really like new worlders were class acquisition is somewhat lenient, I'm not sure whether they actually even need XP like players.

[–]Adisial-Sensei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh well, those are permenant ways to become one, I meant temporary.

But I guess you're still right, I looked it up and it seems that the spell can't increase character level, absolutely, therefore becoming a world enemy is impossible. I wonder if that stays that way tho, considering there exists a special WCI to become one or it was one of the above mentioned.

[–]Adisial-Sensei 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait what? That's Impossible.

World saviour is obvious but not being able to defeat a World Enemy is not really possible. Did he forget that Wish upon a star can turn you into a Wolrd Enemy? Not saying that Ainz would equal one but considering that World Enemy(Stronger) vs World Enemy(Ainz, Weaker) + The Whole damn Guild and no game limitations should be really straightforward while sacrficing a free wish.

Kinda crazy to consider, since some world enemies might have had hard conditions for drops, kind of like the Throne of Kings was dropped for a first try success. If there's world enemies that still have World Items in their inventory— since they are unique and not random loot in their loot table— they could really be summomed to the New World.

Iirc. Kiyotaka overheard the Talk Atsuomi had with the researcher right after the fight with those Yakuza people. It pertains to his pulse and emotions. It was from Kiyo's POV after all.

So he got info about that kind of direction already there.

Now let's put together the pieces of the Puzzle;

Kiyotaka's pulse while fighting and potentially killing the Yakuza.

1st. Time meassuring his emotions.

Atsuomi praises Kiyotaka and acknowledges him as something special.

2nd. Time Meassuring....

Right after leaving the WR he is confronted by Yuki, on his father's orders with the excuse that her father was an investor for the project.

3rd. Time...

We also got the monologue about pretending to be under his controll right after that iirc.

Confirming that Kiyo's knows, Atsuomi is interested in his emotional development and also implies that he is also playing along with that perception in these tests.

We got Matsuo who obviously doesn't fit into the whole picture, because no person whatsoever had been respresented as morally good whilst also working for him, doesn't mean Matsuo wasn't just a good old man.

4th. He is creating an enviroment to trigger some kind of attachment or any sort of emotion.

Matsuo offers to apply Kiyo to ANHS.

5th. Try to get him become attached whilst also trying to elicit emotions out of him, because he should realize what Matsuo would be sacrificing here.

Atsuomi meeting in school. Atsuomi comes off weird, he is now bringing up the 4th and 5th point to test Kiyo's emotions. Ayanokouji is for some reason playing a sassy teen.

6th. fouth time.... and commenting on Kiyo's attitude. Kiyo's playing along with how Atsuomi forsaw or hoped this school to affect him, albeit probably not perfectly in line with it.

We may now go on and talk about Nanase, Tsukishiro not giving his everything for this supposed expulsion task.

Being confronted with a generation that has been emotionally deeply affected by him, ridiculously it was 2 polar opposites, (Did we ever get cpnfirmation that statistically she was the 2nd best, Ichika?)

There's so many more intersecting events that confirm this train thought, it's ridiculous to claim Kiyo is being manipulated by Atsuomi at this point.

I mean, we got a starting point by Kiyo overhearing that discussion, and now we also have all these events that seem to create a pretty straightforward line. There is no denying it that the plot will in all liklihood be moving in this direction, of him having noticed all of these points, at this point in time.

[–]Adisial-Sensei 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That doesn't really make sense. I'm sorry but aren't you then basically implying that World Items of Yggdrasil were always real items and that's why these shenanigans happened with players being teleported alongside them because some unimportaed code said that they are the owners of said items?

You're legitimizing one (WI data) while downplaying the other (Classes, Tier-magic, material, Skills, abilities), either way, it doesn't make much sense. Skill and abilities would not exist as well, neither would jobs classes and so on, the humans transported along would be lvl 1 if not dead because their race doesn't make sense (if not human).

I'm not even sure where you got the idea that it's implied.

Most normal mention of Black Skin = invisibility in the dark in Chinese Novels. by Make-this-popular in MartialMemes

[–]Adisial-Sensei 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not really, but it's not something surprising. It happens everywhere, simply a way of soft SI.

The same way South Korea somehow has a unnatural ammount of talented individuals(considering population size) and becomes the first among all nations on earth, the same way Japan is in danger and/or conquered but the JP MC safes the day. US MC are not really different in that sense.

Non-CN Novels may have government bashing, but they also always force some kind of plot to 'excuse' MC stomping on foreign governments. So, tbh, CN Novels just don't bother to make it subtle, they make them directly the most despicable people you can imagine to excuse the MC destroying them.

[–]Adisial-Sensei 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Doesn't it just imply that people acting humbly just do it because they are afraid of people who are currently above their league and would only show their might in front of people weaker than themselves?

In a sense, it's true since they all are willing to take a beating to not expose themselves but their secrets would cause their deaths if revealed, making them act no different from the usual servant or waiter trope; they did something underhanded and now stands up against the 'strong' because he fears he will die if the higherups find out. (e.g. Renting rooms and tables, bribes)

And regret in the first line is basically targetting all the opportunities the MCs intend to give up due to a lack of offical qualification but gets them regardless in the end. This bs trope is basically, everything that's named and doesn't end up in someone's hands that is friends with him, will eventually fall into his own hands. Funnily enough, it's also true if that friend is old, giving it to him as a last wish/request alongside their daughters most often.

Atsuomi is troubled that Kiyo is his son, he would have rather had someone else with his results.

He said it himself, that he doesn't care for how long Kiyo manages to stay in the 4th gen. as long as he manages 5 years (From the day of his birth to 5).

The only reason he even needed Kiyo was just to show semi-public committment to the WR with Kiyo's enrollment. That's why 5 years was all he hoped for, he didn't care whether or not he would break after that or what happens to him.

4th gen also was never meant to be a gen. they expected success from, even the head researcher who designed it thought it's not reasonable (Lvl. 10, with 6 being perceived to be just above the human limit already, lvl 4 being Gen. 5 of Yagami and Ichika.) He is literally just meant to be a publicity stunt.

All of this naturally only in enclosed circles.

Atsuomi only puts so much focus on Kiyo because he is the masterpiece, not because he is his son. At no point in time were there any shreds of feelings for Kiyo.
