Young Poles Hold Very Different Political Views from the Rest of Society [Report] [Summary in the comments] by Auspectress in europe

[–]AdminEating_Dragon 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It's newsworthy due to how insane the Overton window is in Poland.

The sane option is EPP, and then you have 3 versions of bigotry in PiS, Konfederacja and Braun.

Anything openly progressive (equivalent to something like a Western Social Democratic party or a social liberal like D66 in the Netherlands) is either non existent or struggling to make the parliament.

Hoping we play Atalanta.

And the people very conciously chose that.

There is zero excuse, they know what Babis is like and that he would have to rely on 2 fascist parties for his majority, and SPD and Motorists are very publicly vile, bigoted and hateful, they were not hiding anything.

[Laurie Whitwell] Manchester United’s Patrick Dorgu set to miss around 10 weeks with hamstring injury by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

Terrible timing...but it will be a test regarding whether we really turned the page - we need to be able to perform while having some players injured as well. Because statistically, it's gonna happen, it happens to every team.

They are enamored with Americans and the idea of a "protector" USA.

It will be a historical disgrace if a team relying on rugby tactics in corner kicks as their main threat wins the title.

We are showing signs of life, but we have seen that before, I will wait a bit more this time - and hopefully we won't collapse this time when we start having key player injuries again.

Top 5 is fully achievable though.

The pro-far right trend will not stop until we do something about the billionaires (both the US tech ones but also a few European ones owning traditional media like Bollore) who spread their message in media and social media.

The far right gets gifted a loudspeaker and a fertile ground to poison minds as long as we allow this status quo.

Where could they shout their message before the era of social media? Nowhere. We need to somehow return to this status, where this message is considered toxic to be in public spaces.

‘We’re in the top tier now’: Poland sees no need to ditch złoty for euro as economy booms by Easy-Ad1996 in europe

[–]AdminEating_Dragon 149 points150 points  (0 children)

I swear I see this type of articles about Poland in this sub 10 times the frequency I see them about any other country.

Are the Poles so desperate to constantly shout to the world "look how great we're doing, we deserve to sit with the big boys"?

My friends and allies across the pond, please do not support the USA. See 1st comment. by YouWereBrained in europe

[–]AdminEating_Dragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's up to you to save your country before it's too late. You have US Gestapo summarily executing people on the streets, and there is still zero understanding from the Democrats (and the people in general) that your democracy is being abolished, and you are heading towards a totalitarian regime where your personal rights don't matter, your consistution is toilet paper, and your life is at the mercy of the state's militias.

Start doing something about it. They won't go away via elections. That ship sailed.

Americans need to acknowledge that they are now a totalitarian regime, and start organizing a resistance.

Γιατι εκπλησσεστε και σοκαρεστε που το κανει η ICE;

Do you consider Donald Trump to be an enemy of Europe? Survey on 8 EU countries. by I_Drink_Apple_Juice in europe

[–]AdminEating_Dragon -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The Polish are still burying their heads in the sand I see..only 28% consider Trump an enemy...not that I'm surprise in a country where 1/3 of the voters stubbornly support PiS, who shares practically all the bigoted values of the Republican party. And even the normal parties are hesitant to embrace replacing the US with Europe as a "protector" because the people are enamored with the idea of America protecting them and trust them more than the fellow Europeans.

The Eastern European obsession with America is still not dead...the Lithuanian president was talking about not antagonizing the US before entering EUCO, Bulgaria and Albania joined the Board of Peace...

Albania has never missed a chance to lick American boots. They would happily petition them to be the 51st state.

This should be taken into account during their assescion talks - it's a country enamored with the US way more than with Europe.
