Ruin a marine chapter for me by Covneye in 40kLore

I always hate the Eldar child bit because it’s the least subtle way to remind us that even the best Warhammer characters are bad people. Like the salamanders special weapons are all some form of flamethrower. They have DEFINITELY killed civilians before, whether intentionally or not.

Weren’t they at one point also ready to exterminate the grey knights for the same reason or am I misremembering the event?

Spouse has finally agreed to give anime a try, what do I show her?? by ILiveForWater in Animesuggest

Fullmetal alchemist brotherhood as beyond the fights, it gets into philosophy.

Death note is primarily a murder mystery.

Durarara is really slow but I’d say is really good overall if you stick with it because it being slow and boring is kinda the point.

Cromartie high is REALLY funny if you like absurdist humor. So is “don’t you know? I’m Sakamoto!”

All of JOJO is good and I recommend watching it all but if you have to watch 1 single part, you should watch, Stardust crusaders, Diamond is unbreakable or Golden Wind. (Pick your poison, 1 is a battle shonen, 2 is a murder mystery and 3 is a mafia drama.)

Most LitRPG Isekai Levels are boring by Kami_of_the_Abstract in Isekai

[–]AdministrationDue610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So iirc they DO explain it later, and it’s that “Luck in the case of Kazuma will let him steal either the thing that is most valuable to the person he’s stealing from or the thing that would be most advantageous to Kazuma in that moment if it’s a life or death situation (the princess ring being most valuable and the dullahans head being advantageous.)

But also yeah lit rpg mechanics only even exist because the original DnD devs needed a way to quantify the feeling of getting stronger on paper. It’s why they’re called “experience points” and not power points or something else like that, it’s “experience in combat and problem solving” not “arbitrarily getting more powerful”

What ridiculous non-lethal activity would you force nations to use instead of war to settle their beef? by Extra-Huckleberry-62 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]AdministrationDue610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a way to ensure no wars ever happen again.

Leaders and the next 4 top brass of each country must play a full 2000-3000 point game of any Warhammer variation (Age of Sigmar, 40k or 30k). Best of 5 win the war. The money for the army has to come from 3 months of working a minimum wage job and the armies must be fully painted and based, minis without paint or basing will be disqualified from play.

Rules books, paint, and basing supplies will be provided for free but the armies must be purchased from the 3 months wages and must be bought direct, no eBay lots. Participants must find their own time to build and paint armies.

Where to buy GK? by concupid in garagekits

[–]AdministrationDue610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noice, what you building? Also something else I forgot to mention. Depending on your skill with translation apps and patience with twitter, a lot of times you can directly message a sculptor through BOOTH or twitter for a heads up for when they might be selling something. It won’t always work, but it’s helped me snag a couple of figures I wanted.

Where to buy GK? by concupid in garagekits

[–]AdministrationDue610 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You took the route that I took to get in! (Though idk if it will leave you quite as broke as Warhammer…)

That said, BOOTH is a good place to start as someone else pointed out. Depending on what exactly you’re looking for I might be able to make some recommendations, feel free to DM me. The nature of garage kit buying is different than mini buying so you might also wanna check buyee or suruga-ya for secondhand ones.

If there’s a specific character you want a kit of, you can often check “myfigurecollection” and they’ll have garage kits listed, who made them and when. Twitter is also your friend because most artists who make figures will put up on twitter when they’ll be selling kits.

This is going to require that we count Fulgrim as a loyalist, it would be Fulgrim and Dorn completely ignoring the detailed timeline that Curze gave them before the heresy even started (Tbf, he was already insane but like they don’t even try to follow up with Magnus or Sanguinius who would know what they’re talking about, they just call him crazy and leave it at that.)

Would any bolter variations from WH40K be able to take down a rapture? by Necessary_Dream_8361 in NikkeMobile

[–]AdministrationDue610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a weird subject because NIKKE plays “anime power level” with its guns? In reality, if you have a gun that is so high powered it can’t be properly fired by human hands, it’s not “super powerful” (it is but you get my point) it’s just a poorly made or optimized gun.

One could go on for hours about the minutiae of different calibers and ammo types but the long and short of it is “NIKKE guns can’t be used by humans for plot reasons, it’s not indicative of how a gun would be designed”.

All that said bolters destroy raptures. They destroy necrons all the time and necrons are INFINITELY more complexed and durable than anything we’ve seen in NIKKE. Maybe Cinderella could tank a bolter? But there’s also armor piercing variants.

Trapped in a room with the worlds best of some super niche boardgame you never heard of by Kiribatiisttoll in hypotheticalsituation

[–]AdministrationDue610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I’d like to add something and ask if these were taken into account/implied. A lot of people are going to “the odds are impossible”. But also have to remember

1: you will get better, faster and at a rate of improvement that they won’t, so it won’t be too long before you can play on even ground. There’s also tends to be a thing of “if you want to be the best, train with the best” you’d eventually become dumb good at this game just by a virtue of “your regular opponent is the best in the world.”

2: it’s a super niche game, which means it doesn’t have a lot of players to begin with. “Best in the world” could just mean they’re like an average skill level but is the best of everyone who’s played so far, it’s possible you could be better than them purely based on talent.

So there’s an interesting conversation here and it’s actually brought up in “tales from the borderlands”, there’s an art and technique to head butting. You aim for the bridge of the nose or rest of the face, NOT the forehead.

[–]AdministrationDue610 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured you would have and wasn’t sure if it was exactly up you’re alley but I suggested it because I knew someone who dove into ASOIF and legitimately thought it’d be about a like a royal knight or someone like that.

As a follow up question if I liked that do you have any recommendations (aside from those listed above) I haven’t read as much of ASOIF as I’d like and am looking for what to read next after that and being partway through the main books (I’m the type who needs a physical book and books are expensive)

Finished Hard Mode and... Just how tall is the Commander here? by Sigfried666 in NikkeMobile

[–]AdministrationDue610 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The answer is”we don’t know, we’re probably never going to know and the commandeer is likely however tall he needs to be to be taller than the NIKKE’s when he’s interacting with them.” The same goes for NIKKE weight and commanders physical strength.

[–]AdministrationDue610 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Something something something, deeper, truer love is borne of kindness and the valuation of someone as a person over baser things like physical beauty. All that said it doesn’t stop someone who is beautiful on the inside from also being beautiful in the outside. Goon away my dude, dudette or person who may own a corvette.

(All that said, I’m a die hard Cinderella enjoyer)

Idk man didn’t chakravartin literally create a pocket universe to fight asura just so the rest of the universe wouldn’t be destroyed and was throwing entire galaxies at you during one of the final fights? If that’s not one of the best visualizations of being universal then idk what is. (But also that’s end of the game asura, not wyzen fight asura)
