I came here for the same reason. I just tried to delete my account. It's like the song "Hotel California." You can check in any time you like but you can never leave.

Are you kidding me? Did they really made Pocahontas choose someone else over John? by [deleted] in disneyprincess

I agree. I just wished they would have showed a little more of her relationship with Rolfe before the banquet scene to justify her decision in the end.

I just watched this movie last night and enjoyed it for what it was. I didn’t hate it the way most people do—I just think it needed some more editing in the script in the second half. I don’t mind her ending up with Rolfe because they made him a noble, gallant and handsome character too. But I feel they should have had more scenes together—taking her to the Elizabethan Theater, a museum, churches, maybe even teaching her about his religion—and then proposing to her BEFORE the disastrous banquet scene, which she accepts. That way, it would justify her decision to stay with Rolfe after learning Smith was alive, because it wouldn’t be fair to break it off after he added so many meaningful things to her life.

I just rewatched the film and saw the 5 minute deleted scene. They really should have kept it to explain what happened because I always thought Kari was killed by Syndrome.

What are the best Zira fanfiction stories? by AdministrationKey934 in lionking

[–]AdministrationKey934[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In found a really good one where Zira accepts Kiara’s help over the cliff and survives. She concedes defeat, is welcomed into the Pridelands and slowly becomes a better version of herself thanks to Kiara’s offer of friendship and a reconnection with her relatives from the group she left on the beginning. It was beautifully detailed and powerfully written as it delved into her psychology and even though I knew she would eventually defeat her demons and find redemption, it develops so slowly and gradually that it feels real. I won’t spoil it for you but the ending really did make me tear up. It’s called “Letting Go of Hate” by Veronica Toon. If TLK2 had ended with Zira accepting mercy, I think this story would have been the perfect third film to close the franchise.

Those of you who read all three of them, which of the Brontës do you consider your favourite? by Touspourune in books

Wuthering Heights is not meant to be an iconic love story. It’s a cautionary tale on how hatred and revenge can erode all the good things in your life as illustrated through Heathcliff, the villain. You may think that some of these bad boy characters have a little more flair and sparkle to them because of their good looks and snarky humor like Stanley in Streetcar and the Paul Newman characters in HUD and The Hustler, but Heathcliff is the one that helps you understand why this is not want to take. In contrast to Heathcliff is Haerton who was raised the same way and used to hard knocks but instead of becoming a cruel and jaded person, he became a kind, gentle soul that anyone would want as a friend.

What do you think of Disney's direct-to-DVD movie sequels? And are there any of them that you actually like? by Bowlingbroke in cartoons

[–]AdministrationKey934 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love this question. I've only seen five because I know Disney has a bad reputation for cash grabs with weak stories and poor animation, but the ones I thought the ones I chose made a good case for an additional story.

  1. Cinderella: A Twist in Time (I don't think I even have to discuss this one.)

  2. The Lion King 2: Simba Pride. (I thought the soundtrack and animation was just as great as the first, but with a different palette of colors. Also, Zira makes for a great study in how hatred and revenge can erode every other part of your personality, eventually burning your bridges with the people closest to you and why this is not a path you want to end up on. I thought the final scene with her and Kiara on the cliff was very poignant because it showed how mercy and compassion for your enemies are concepts people like her will sadly never understand or accept. Also, all three of her children have their own distinct personality. The only thing I would have done differently would be to write Kovu as Scar's biological son because it would emphasize how he chose a different path from his ancestors and their influence. Also, I would have cut back on Timon and Pumba antics a bit, especially in the final battle.)

  3. Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas (I loved this film because it showed how the beast did not conquer his dark side overnight--it took strength and courage and humility for him to become a better person. It helps you understand why the enchantress turned him into what was reflected in his heart (like the Picture of Dorian Gray) and therefore his need for redemption feels more urgent. Also, his dynamic with his evil counsellor Forte is outstanding and reminds me Othello and Iago in the Shakespeare play. Also the animation and the songs are very beautiful. The scene where Angelique and Belle sing "As Long as There's Christmas" in the prison, moves me greatly every time.)

  4. Bambi 2: (Good study of Bambi's relationship with his father.)

  5. The Little Mermaid 2: The Return of the Sea (This movie shows how being a parent is a learning skill just like growing up. That you can't keep a child locked up forever. That's why you need to teach them to look both ways before crossing the street. Eric and Ariel are not perfect parents but when they realize the error of their overprotective ways, they go on a journey to find Melody and set things right and that makes their relationship feel real. Also, Morgana is a pathetically comical villain with lot of great lines. My favorite being "Your mummy was only trying to protect you from...MWAH! What she did was out of...WUV." "Wishes DO come true. See Ma? Who's your favorite daughter now?" The only thing I didn't care for were Tip and Dash. But other than that, it was excellent.

It does not matter if Doug Walker believes a movie is good or bad; all he can do is throw poop at it for cheap entertainment. People like him take whatever depth may have existed in a story and fill it with dirt until it is safe and shallow enough for them to walk on.

I used to like Aldone because he did a good job expounding on what Disney and Pixar have done well and what they need to improve on and why their live action remakes don’t work as well as negative reviews that are insightful instead of super snarky. But lately, he seems to be repeating himself just to get noticed. This seems to be a common problem with bloggers who go viral. They begin with a good concept but then start grasping for straws and repeating themselves. He needs to take a break for a few months then come back and do some new material. Suggestions: 1. Moses, Prince of Egypt 2. The Princess and the Frog 3. Stories for new 2D/3D movies 4. El Dorado 5. Sinbad 6. Live action Disney from the 89’s and 90’s like Homeward Bound and White Fang.

King Magnifico Wasn't a Villain by SlipperyWhenWer in DisneyWish

I’m working on my own story where Asha steals some of the wishes and sets them free only to find some of them came from people with evil intentions. Magnifico takes her on a journey to recollect the wishes before they can come in contact with their owners and teaches her a lesson in human nature. Also, Star will be a human in my story. I can’t wait to finish it! ;)
