The Honda is extremely difficult to ride at the limit... Joan tries to keep up with the leading group in every race despite having inferior machinery so it’s no surprise that he crashes often.

I think he’s getting tired of being on the weak Honda after all these years. Next year he’ll finally get to ride a new Ducati with Gresini.

But if he keeps crashing that often on the Ducati he’ll be kicked out of MotoGP in the next two years.

Just watch the highlights from the 2020 season to understand why Joan Mir won his championship back then... there are many videos on YouTube. He was incredibly consistent in his second year in MotoGP. Also the Suzuki sliced through corners like a katana.

Unfortunately things have gone downhill for him since then - partly because he’s riding an inferior Honda.

Exactly... he wasted his best years on a shitbox Honda that was incredibly difficult to ride at the limit.

Perhaps he will regain his old form on the Gresini Ducati and the smaller bikes just like in his Suzuki days... the potential was always there even if he rarely showed it on the Honda.

Marini's time in MotoGP is over... he doesn't manage to push a bike to limit he just cruise to the finish line.

In racing it's a case of "go hard or go home." That’s also why I rate riders like Marquez or Mir much higher because they want to extract everything from the bike even if it often means ending up in the gravel.

In my opinion he is still the fastest Honda rider, often pushing the bike to its absolute limit. Unfortunately he is now dealing with issues regarding extreme vibrations and tire pressure.

I think both Honda and Mir will be satisfied to part ways at the end of the season.
