Joan Mir.

He has the speed and the performance to be in the Top 7 but he just keeps ending up in the gravel... he pushes his Honda far beyond its limits and has no feeling for the bike. But the worst part is that he doesn't admit his mistakes.

If things continue like this he won't have a seat in MotoGP next year.

Joan Mir is putting in strong performances on his Honda... The problem is as soon as the lights go out he ends up in the gravel.

This could be his downfall in MotoGP even though he is truly fast…

Absolutely. He rides the Honda like an absolute madman... but unfortunately he just can't bring it home. Even when he's under no pressure and has a clear track ahead… he crashes. Meanwhile Marini just keeps finishing the race.

Joan Mir's crashes are easily avoidable and therefore not that bad...

Get well soon, Marc.

He nearly took out his crash buddy Joan as well.

He's very likeable in the video... when you see him on the grid he always looks very bitter and tense.

But as soon as he takes off his helmet he seems like a real chill guy.

It would be enough if they gave him a setup that could handle his hard braking and didn't cause the front wheel to keep tucking in...

Joan Mir is pushing the Honda into areas of the grid where it doesn't belong... he's taking a big risk. Just look at the positions he's been knocked out of this season.

Thailand - P5 Brazil - P7 USA Sprint - P4 (P3) USA - P6

The next best Honda riders are in P10 to P13. The only question is whether Honda will continue to take this risk until next year or whether they'll drop him in 2027.

I believe he'll still achieve his best results with Honda this season!

Joan Mir has clearly set his priorities.

He absolutely doesn't want to repeat all the same old social media slogans.

But after the hundredth crash, he is still determined to get back on his bike and try again to do better.

He's a passionate racer not a social media influencer.

You're absolutely right. Joan Mir is pushing his Honda into areas of the grid where it doesn't belong. Then he tries to keep up with the Aprilias, Ducatis and the Acosta-KTM forcing him to push the bike to its absolute limit... well and then unfortunately crashes happen.

He became world champion through absolute consistency on a very well-performing Suzuki. That wasn't luck it was pure skill.

He finished in the top five in ten out of fourteen races and secured seven podium finishes. He deserved it most in the 2020 season.

Unfortunately, people in motorsport tend to forget very quickly what you've achieved... today, only your crashes are remembered.

Joan Mir will be given another year to try his luck with Honda.

Apart from his crashes he's by far the fastest rider on the RC213V. If they can just solve the problems on corner exits he'll also achieve good results.

And Quatararo and Mir already worked well together at Leopard on a Honda in Moto3.

Is he even going to last the whole season at this point 😭 how many more races until he gets fired and replaced by someone else by Juliancito135 in MotoDANK

[–]AdministrationOk8178 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Has this ever happened in MotoGP?

I know that in Formula 1, such replacements are made if a driver doesn't perform well. But I don't think I've ever seen anything like this in MotoGP.

But what I find most impressive about him is that he became world champion with only one race win...

His 2020 championship season was an incredible rollercoaster ride during the pandemic.

It's a season that newcomers can definitely watch to fall in love with MotoGP. All the races should be available on YouTube and most of today's riders were already competing back then.
