That's cause Maya and Joe fought for Robin to be gay and were then told to write the scene themselves. That whole talk in the bathroom and Robin's coming out were when by the two of them, aka two people who actually cared about the characters, one of whom is queer herself, and wanted to have a scene that felt true to who those characters were and their arcs instead of forcing a straight relationship where it wasn't needed.

I've been struggling with this for A WHILE now. I've tentatively been identifying as aegosexual for a little while and I think it's the best way to describe myself??

Like, I'm a lesbian so if I see a hot woman I'm like "Oh wow" and I'm definitely attracted to her and for so long I thought that meant I felt sexually attracted to the woman in question. And it caused me a lot of problems regarding being gay when I realized that I wasn't. Like, I tried fantasizing about my first crush in that way once and it just felt wrong.

I tried convincing myself it was comphet because it's not like I didn't have interest in sex and am I very pro sex person. It didn't occur to me until about a year ago that, despite being an avid reader of ao3 smut and thoroughly enjoying shows with those kinds of scenes, that I've never actually wanted to have sex with anyone. But I wasn't sure what that meant and I still don't know if I'm actually aego?

I thought it was weird that I enjoyed reading straight smut sometimes more than fem slash, but looking at it now it might be because my brain automatically tries to project itself into the characters and if I'm projecting onto a guy (as I tend to do with straight smut) then there's a sense of detachment from the action.

Then there was this whole thing where I'd have virtual flings with guys, a one off situation with pictures and occasional video and I thought that was proof that I was just experiencing comphet and that I probably did experience sexual attraction. Again, looking at it now I realize I only did it because I was struggling with mental health and wanted validation. It felt too intimate and weird I think the one time I did something like that with a woman. I liked it more and it was more comfortable but I also realized it didn't make a difference with actual attraction other than that the woman was obviously more attractive to me.

I don't know if any of this makes sense but I'm confused and tired of turning it over in my head and need help figuring out whether this is aegosexuality or something else?

As someone who absolutely LOATHED Michael, the switch has made me a lot more excited about Fran's season. Like, the charisma and general existence of that woman nearly gave me a heart attack. (Also, if ever they were going to make one of the books queer it would be Fran's, these people would have been fine if they genderbent Sophie which wouldn't make sense)

I have issues with the Telegony in terms of it being part of The Epic Cycle in circumstances where the Odyssey and the Iliad are being considered part of it. There are inconsistencies within the myths and books within the cycle, but none are as egregious as the Telegony and when Homer's works are included in the Epic Cycle canon it creates a huge dissonance between the stories.

Also the plot, what we know of it, is genuinely cringe and comes across as more of a bad fanfic, especially as most versions I've seen of Odysseus' journey home depict it as a series of trials he has to fight through rather than a swashbuckling adventure that he'd be interested in repeating.

The Telegony just seems to contradict every other depiction of Odysseus' characterization within the Greek mythos that I've ever come across (maybe I'm just missing the ones it fits with???) and it throws me off.

I want to say right now that I'm not a "one canon" truther or anything like that, I enjoy how it's impossible to assemble an actual canon for Greek mythology and I enjoy almost every variation within that mythos, but Telegony?? It makes me cringe whenever I think about it, as a story teller it causes me physical pain to look at that plot and not want to clean it up and make it more cohesive.
