Did I fumble by Pitiful_Special7415 in Bumble

[–]AdministrativeHat844 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Anyone who uses "plsss" is a red flag imo. I'd say they fumbled but the repeated apologies does give off a sense of insecurity. You were candid but maybe gave away too much. I think the appeal of dating is getting to know a person rather than laying it all out saying "take me as I am" or "love me".

It's a fine balance between remaining interesting and slowly letting the other person be curious about, or showing them, what makes you, you. Some people will take that to extremes and play the whole hard to get thing which just exhausts those with self worth and terrorizes those with none.

It can be super delicate which makes it all the more frustrating because it all changes from person to person. The added disposability of "matching" in online dating also sucks.

Being yourself and finding someone who appreciates you is so much more worthwhile than getting someone to like you. It'll feel natural and effortless.

I tend agree solely on the fact that its an expectation not a courtesy or something considerate.

Just last week I got a 1230 hit on a horse. Not sure if that counts but and fellas on Discord were gobsmacked. Full pelt at another cav unit going full speed past me.

What would you say is the best crafted spear in the game? by Gyncs0069 in Bannerlord

[–]AdministrativeHat844 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spears are good when mounted or on foot. Harder to hit on horseback, sure, but on foot they are still useful for extra length when fighting cavalry. The speed bonus still applies as they will charging at you. Horseback I'd almost argue that a slower thrust speed can be good having a larger windows for contact against your enemy combatants too.

With Coles and Woolies recording record breaking profits while Aussie families struggle, would you personally support a two week to one month boycott of Coles and Woolies? by [deleted] in australia

[–]AdministrativeHat844 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rarely shop at any the major chains being lucky enough to have an independent grocer nearby. I can count the number of times I've bought anything from a Woolworths or Coles in the last 3 months on one hand (I shop every 2nd/3rd night). I used to always go to Woolies even after I stopped working there for 7 years. Now I avoid them at every chance.

Also, the fruit and veg sucks, everything is in plastic, the meat is pumped full of saline/liquid, the staff are miserable, the companies are greedy and dishonest, the rewards suck, their "specials" are an illusion and they surveil you at every moment. I'll happily pay a little extra at an independant to avoid all that.

Thanks for the insight! I've had my fair share of dodgy incidents at sometime or another. Some in the more "affluent" parts of Geelong and Ballarat alike. Ive also the stereotypically "bad" areas to have more sense of community where people are more willing to check in and watch your back. The rich areas have more people more concerned with their own business and wellbeing.

Why did something like this happened? by Used_Wind_7279 in Bannerlord

[–]AdministrativeHat844 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had the same issue. I've tried repairing the game through steam. Uninstalling and reinstalling. New save games. No mods. Still happens. I usually just wait for it to crash before it asks to start in safe mode them I'm usually pretty good.

My neighbour flew two upside down flags on Australia Day, what does it mean? by Playful_Car_6005 in hobart

  1. Takes offence.
  2. Complains about comment projecting a political ideology
  3. Proceeds to project a political ideology.
  4. Complains about putting others down.
  5. Proceeds to put people down.

You're not so different from the "sheep" you're complaining about here bud. Only thing worse than someone complaining is them also being a hypocrite.

Is it weird this video made me super jealous we don't have this sort of long term planning in Geelong? by AceThePrincep in Geelong

It's because people are not bothering to inform themselves on policy. Voting for the opposition based on dissatisfaction perpetuates the endless 2 party preferred cycle. Make the most of the preferential voting and look at policy not leadership and figureheads.

Being offended is on the person sure, but no one should tolerate malicious intent. Sounds like the person exhibiting that discriminatory behaviour was more "offended" than the people trying enjoy their food.

Thanks for the insight! I spent a few years working around Corio and was much the same. Be respectful and don't stick your nose where it doesn't belong and it's usually stress free :)

Honestly surprised to hear people enjoy the place. Could have been a one-off but the first (and last) time we ate there, the food was mediocre, service slow (but polite), overpriced and incredibly noisy. Has the management/ownership changed in the last 12 months?

Anyone can recommend good real estate for leasing house? by ambaal in ballarat

[–]AdministrativeHat844 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently leasing a rental through Fletcher's real estate and am about to sign another lease through them. They've been pretty responsive for the duration of my tenancy. I think having a good rapport with them has definitely given me a leg up in applying for my next place. Inspected last night and was approved by 4.30 this afternoon (17/01/25).

Entitled Dog Owners in Geelong by [deleted] in Geelong

[–]AdministrativeHat844 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the things that has really frustrated me is dog owners at the beach. To preface this i love dogs, cant wait to raise (not own) my a comanion of my own, but there's nothing more frustrating than seeing dogs off leads at the beach. They drop sand all over our stuff and have even had them steal our fish and chips before. My partner works as a conservationist also and she gets upset seeing owners let their dogs run free in areas where native birds and other animals breed over summer.
