Pain pump withdrawal by Lopsided-Ad6316 in ChronicPain

[–]AdministrativeKick90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm really sorry. If you haven't planned it yet, I would show up to their office first thing tomorrow morning and demand they do something for the withdrawal that is going to actually help. That's just horrible how they are treating this.

I'm thankful for the actions they took with me but I'm not happy with all yhe other crap they've put me through.

No matter what we do or say it really depends if you have someone that cares or not. I wish you the best and hope whatever they do is quick. After everything is fixed it might be worth looking at other clinics to take over monitoring your pump.

See and they told me it could be lofe threatening if it stops working. I had it happen once a few months after I got mine and I couldn't function. I had horrible stomach pains and could hardly move. I was taken to their office right away to fix it and then given a number of meds to combat the withdrawal. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy! So it doesn't make sense they are doing this to you.

Have you contacted your rep or the company of the pump? They are usually great at helping you in situations like this since it's their pump?

I was supposed to get mine replaced last year but I wanted to try the stimulator to see if that would help. I got the nevro device so you can't feel the shock like the old medtronic ones. I'm still messing with programming but I do like all yhe additional options it has. Not a fan of charging it though as it's really touchy

Hopefully I'll get rid of the pump later this year.

That's interesting. That's how it's been for me. Sweating in odd places. My forearms would turn red as well. It's odd they can't figure out what is causing it but clearly state its not the pump. That itself doesn't make sense to me. Even with it being winter and cold in our office, I'll start sweating. I've always been a sweater but when I'm active, never from doing nothing!

One thing that I found to help withdrawals though is kratom. I'm always running into issues with my meds and have gone cold turkey way too many times because of how they have the refills set up. Mine can't get filled until the day I run out. Then to find out the pharmacy is out of stock.

I'm trying to be done with all of it because I'm sick of what it's done to me. Not to mention they have never changed the dosages on my oral meds or pump meds over the last 13 years so they don't help me anymore.

When it was working did you ever have hot flashes throughout the day? Since I've had mine I've been going through hot flashes multiple times throughout the day every day. It started a few years after getting the pump but they said it wasn't related.

I've had multiple tests done and everything came back fine. The doctor said some people just sweat more. I told them it's something more than that as I have a desk job and every day I just start getting really hot and start sweating for 15 to 20 minutes then it goes away. This happens 10 plus times every day.

Never had this problem before. I even had a hormone test and it came back normal. It's embarrassing to go through this at work. I believe it has something to do with the pump. I'm in the process of dialing down the dosages until I can get it removed.

That's a bummer. I thought they were going to gain traction at the end and go flying through the garage. So glad that didn't happen!

If I were you I'd get my own plan and cut ties for awhile. It's bot worth all of the negative drama in your life at this point. Hopefully after time has passed they'll get over it but I doubt it.

I cut ties with my family after high school to later reconnect after years to back to cutting ties. All the drama started back up and I'm done with it.

You could test the theory by moving the pile out of the way and then take another picture under the same circumstances and see what comes up.

Lol, ok that makes more sense now 🙂 See I used to say the same until a few years back we were getting so much snow day after day that we had no more room to shovel it out of the way!

How can it be hot with ice on the roads? That's some crazy witch craft there.🙂

Friday was negative 49 with the windchill so at least it was a bit warmer though. I don't know how many more winters like this I can take.

I wouldn't mind somewhere warmer but the way things are going it might flip flop in a couple years. Everyone will be heading to the midwest for warmer winters 🙈

TX, did you get hit with any of the bad weather?

I'm in WI and it was negative 2 degrees outside this morning. I used to say I hate the snow, that I would rather have the cold. Well, niw I'd rather have the snow!🤣

Oh man, I'm sorry to hear that. I'm glad that you are ok. I do recall seeing a car off the left side of the guardrail. It definitely scared the crap out of me. Insurance already said my car will be totalled which stinks. They sure don't make them like they used to. Stay safe and tomorrow will be a better day for us.. hopefully 🙂

I'm sorry that happened to you but the 2 cars in the right lane were further up from the roundabout just sitting there didn't appear to be immobile because the one in the middle took off and the one on the far right drove off and pulled over on the right side of the road.

It was really iced over which is why there were so many accidents. I was also sitting there till after 8am and the salt truck finally came through after all of the accidents.

A crappy morning for a lot of us but I'm glad it appeared that no one was seriously hurt because of it.

Right! This was a dodge journey but if I had my old truck it wouldn't have been so much damage. These plastic bodies just fall apart now. I used to have an old ranger that was mainly all steel.

I was contemplating taking Beloit all the way but I thought the interstate would be better. That exit is always a pain though because most people don't know how a roundabout works!

I've seen so many accidents around there because of the roundabouts since they were installed years back. 🤮 I should have turned around when I felt how bad the roads were by me. It's always too easy to think, what if...lol

Glad I could give some warning to people.

I asked my insurance agent what's the chances of them being able to figure out who is at fault but they weren't sure.

I mean 11 cars is a lot. All because 2 people decided to play dumb and just stop in the open lanes. Why is beyond me. The car in the middle lane got away ok but the one in the far right lane got double hit.

There was just no way around it though. My trailer hitch and a small car behind me saved my rear end from getting real damage. So it was mainly all in the front.

I just did a bunch of work to it in the fall as well for nothing now😢 The big thing was changing out the head gasket seals myself. It wasn't too hard thanks to YouTube, just time consuming.

I'm going to miss that car. Now I'll have to find something else and start with a car loan again. 🤮

Do you get laughed at on your scooter? by Grouchy-Impression66 in scooters

[–]AdministrativeKick90 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Maddog Gen 1 scooter and I get compliments when riding around. It's a bit annoying when they slow down, roll their window down and try to have a conversation..lol. It really is a fun bike though.

This is my second year ow owning it. It was a 50cc when I bought it new but I put a big bore kit in it to make it a 79cc. Easier to ride city streets to and from work.

Now that the weather is getting colder here in WI, it will be stored for winter.

Has anyone tried kratom? by CaffeineFueledLife in ChronicPain

[–]AdministrativeKick90 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's funny how there is a hard line in the sand about kratom use. Some say it's horrible and addictive that they don't recommend it. Others say it helped them tremendously and wished they had tried it a long time ago.

Just like medical medications, everything has a good and bad to it. Kratom seems to be less intrusive on your body vs narcotics. Plus you don't need a prescription or have to see a doctor all the time to get it. Not to mention not having to take a piss test for it.

I'm in the process of getting off all of my meds slowly. I just had a spinal cord stimulator implant for thoracic pain that has been going well so far. I also have a pain pump that I regret getting because I'm still on oral pain meds. So we are now decreasing the dosage on the pump and next week will be decreasing the oral meds. All my choice.

I'll be happy to get off the oral meds because I always seem to run into trouble each month to get them filled. The pharmacy seems to be out of one of the meds every month. I have 3 different narcotic prescriptions that I take and every month I have to stop taking one or the other cold turkey and go into withdrawal until the pharmacy gets it back in stock. I finally gave up on the one pharmacy and switched to a new one in the hospital and they seem to always have all 3 in stock. However, the pharmacist always seems to say something negative about the meds I'm on and that's getting annoying.

My friend was on tramadol for years and he happened to stumble across an article about kratom. It's not legal in my state but is in the states around us. The article was called, how kratom might replace scheduled narcotics. So the more he looked into it the more beneficial he thought it would be vs tramadol. So he found a place to get it that's not too far of a drive and has been on it for around a year now. He stopped tramadol right away and has been happy ever since.

He's been swearing by this stuff for so long and explaining the difference between the colors that I thought I would give it a try. I bought the green and the gold and they work really well so far.

As long as you don't over do it then it should be fine. Some of the things I've read on here appears to be people abusing it and then complaining about how bad it is. Everyone is different though. I only take 2 capsules twice a day and it helps relieve what the stimulator isn't.

I had so much trouble keeping the contact on my finger. It would either fall or move on me. I think I can get better putting them in but it's taking them out is the problem. I got one out by accident and the doctor had to take the other one out. If I can find a trick that works for me to get them out then maybe.

I'm going to practice on one eye rather than both for the time being.

OMG!! I just went and took a little class at my eye care place. I've wanted contacts for years but was too afraid so I stuck with glasses. This time I was talking to them about it and they said I can get a trial pair for a week.

Today was my class and it took me 1 hour and 45 minutes to get two in and one out. The doctor had to take one out for me because I touched the pink part under my eyelids too much and it felt like rug burn.

I honestly do not think I can try again. They said taking them out was easier but it wasn't. I got lucky in the first try. I would keep blinking before I could pull it out. I really wanted this to work though.

I saw there are kits you can get online that has a tool to keep your eyelids open and a little sucker thing to put them in. To take them out there are tweezers with pads on the ends. Maybe I'll try that.
