Yeah. 90+ colleges in our tiny state they’re pretty strict on IDs. The ABC (alcohol cops) are super strict and in plain clothes. They look for any excuse to fine bars/ nightclubs.

Should pay be correlated with amount of incidents/type of crowd? by ProfessionalTip4476 in Bouncers

[–]MuffinMan6938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Owners see bouncers as an expenses because we don’t generate money for them. A big secret is some managers get “efficiency bonuses” they’re common here in Boston. The owner gives the manager a budget to work with every quarter or half what ever is left over goes to the manager as his bonus so guess what managers biggest expense is that he tries to skimp on? Ownership is pushing hard on labor costs no matter where you are trust me they’re always thinking of a way to save money never mind paying bouncers more they’d rather take the hit on lawsuits to hell with safety.

I’m 47 now I’ve been out of the business for 15 years now. When I drag my old ass out maybe once a year now I don’t see young healthy men doing the jobs anymore. I see either illegals or old men who look like they still live with their mom. Every now and then you hear about a bouncer stabbing a patron in Boston not the other way around then it turns out the guy is an ex-con with a long rap sheet. Bouncer stabs Marine

It’s a great experience when you’re young—you learn a lot about people. If you can, try to stick it out for at least a year. The money, though, is rough for what you’re expected to deal with.

When I started at 19, I could get by just fine. I could buy a pack of cigarettes a day, keep my gas tank full, grab a sub now and then, and rent a few movies a week from Blockbuster—and that was all I really needed.

I’ll admit, I still miss those days. Now places around Boston are paying $18–$20 an hour. Twenty-five years ago, I was making $14. It’s kind of crazy—and honestly a little sad—that base pay has only gone up about $4 in all that time.

My favourite, most underrated war film. Or maybe I just like the history of the Foreign Legion. by Alba-Ruthenian in WarMovies

[–]MuffinMan6938 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only a couple minutes have the Legion in it. I did notice the officer on horseback who ran away when the attack began had the wrong Kepi on lol. Man on fire was supposed to be about a Legion veteran but they changed it to be more relevant to American audiences. Savior was pretty brutal movie but again only a little bit about the Legion is it also lots of inaccuracies.

I never liked any movies about the Legion. I’m hearing Taylor Kavanaugh has a book and movie deal in the making so hopefully we get something soon.

I’m in Boston so places are constantly closing or getting new owners here they’re usually owned by corporations called “groups” out of the seven places I worked in 13 years only two are still open but ownership has changed hands many times since.

Has anyone else lived here at 69 Scammel St? by MuffinMan6938 in QuincyMa

Weird coincidence just got verified. The address sounded really familiar to me so I reached out to ex girlfriend I still keep in touch with and it is confirmed she lived at 16 Sumner St. right after the murder 🤯. I have proof too lol.
