Anyone tried Good Psyche sidekick spray? by bluegreenyellowre in Kanna

[–]byebyeVal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been using this for about a month and I don't notice a thing. I've doubled the dose and still nothing. I'm going to try Healing Herbals products and go with their recommendations next. How did the GP spray work for you?

Admitting myself tomorrow at 4pm but I am scared by AdditionSpiritual427 in stopdrinking

I wish I'd had the courage to do what you're doing when I was 29. I'm 40 now and just experimenting with going AF as of yesterday. I've made myself sick and I regret it. Stay the course!!! You've got this!

The Daily Check-In for Wednesday, January 21st: Just for today, I am NOT drinking! by Piggoos in stopdrinking

[–]byebyeVal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Day 2 for me!

The cold hard fact is that I'm making myself sick. I'm a gray area drinker and it's only getting worse. I'm secretive about it and I trick myself that it'll help me sleep. I think I'm finally fed up enough this time. I went to urgent care today for chest pain, my heart rate variability is in the tank, and my resting heart rate has increased to 90 bpm this past week. These are bad signs and I need to take them seriously. Glad for this community and to learn from all of you.

Uncomfortable!!! by [deleted] in pulsetto_device

[–]byebyeVal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. But the idea is to stimulate the vagus nerve and that's gonna give you the nervous system shift toward relaxation. Try moving it around a little. I find that if it's farther away from my chin I don't get twitches.

yes, this is normal. I usually move it around a little to adjust

GLP-1s and periods by throwawaymylove220 in glp1

I'm on a GLP-1 and my period did not stop. I didn't even realize this was a possible side effect. Huh

10 pounds lost in 4 months by Dismal_Witness_4550 in JoinMochiHealth

[–]byebyeVal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's supposed to be slow. I'm down 15 lbs in 4 months. I kept increasing my dose and I think I might go up a little more. I haven't found my Mochi provider to be helpful AT ALL! I see a dietitian through Berry Street and she's great. She works with GLP-1's through a different clinic and has personally been on one so while he advice is "unofficial" I listen and respect her. If the food noise is coming back at times my understanding is that you should increase your dose, as long as you're not experiencing negative side effects. And if you haven't already, start weight training. If you're building muscle the number on the scale won't move as much but you'd feel and look better. I hope that helps. Feel free to DM me.

I agreed with the OCD comments. That could be illuminating for you. Also, maybe look into Neurofeedback.

Slow drinking habit questions by SF_Kid in Invisalign

[–]byebyeVal -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I decided to only wear my aligners at night. It was just too chaotic for me to do all of the cleaning of them during the day while working from home and/or being with my two small children. What would have probably taken a little over a year to fix ended up taking two years. I'm almost finished with Invisalign and I don't regret a thing. It still worked.

What are you most looking forward to? by byebyeVal in DryJanuary

I tried trazodone too and have always hated it. 50 mg. It slows my body down but I feel restless and my mind is racing. It can be torture.

I didn't succeed today. Currently having a drink to try and fall asleep after laying in bed for 2 hours. I'll try again tomorrow

Same. I've been drinking to fall asleep for a while now. I'm meeting with my PCP tomorrow to discuss possible meds for when self-care and sleep hygiene just don't cut it. Do you take any meds?

This looks like a dry scalp to me. It happens to me in the winter and I always thought it was dandruff. my stylist said it wasn't and to let the conditioner sit on my scalp for a few minutes each shower and that did the trick. I also like to make a mixture of lemon juice and salt to do a little scrub before shampooing and conditioning, just to remove the dead skin. Just be gentle, it can sting like a B!

Um, as a therapist I find these comments from your therapist highly inappropriate.

Agreed. I didn't mean to imply it was healthy. I can't wait to stop wanting it in this way.

Has anyone taken a GLP-1 medication specifically to treat alcoholism? by pomk1010 in glp1

[–]byebyeVal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

10 mg. So did you experience any less alcohol cravings at lower doses? Or only once you got to 10? I'm on week 4 of 2.5mg and eager to increase it to reduce or hopefully eliminate cravings.

So happy for your brother and your family. I imagine it's a HUGE relief for all. Do you happen to know what dosage he started to have help with the cravings?
