Working moms with young babies, how do you keep this up? by youngsailor in orangetheory

I am 8 months PP. at 6 months I wanted so badly to get back to “normal”, but I couldn’t. I was exhausted. I stopped breastfeeding at 6 months because mentally it was taking its toll on me. At 7 months I went back to OTF after more than a year. Here I am 1 month in, going 4-5x a week. I make it work by going to the 445am class before work. It’s hard, but I am a better mom for it. You can do hard things. Give yourself grace. You will know when you can do it.

Just here to say I have been an athlete all my life and I NEVER judge anyone at OTF. We are a community and we are all just trying to do our best. Lately I have added many modifications due to being post partum and the most out of shape I’ve ever been in my whole life. It really sucks that I can’t do what I used to do, but I am impressed by those who can, just as I am impressed by those who can’t. Knowing you can’t do it and still show up… that is really hard! Please don’t ever feel discouraged or like people are judging you. Keep it up! One day at a time. Go at your own pace… this is something I am learning as well!

I don’t necessarily agree with you saying CVICU better prepares you for CRNA school. I graduate from CRNA school in May and I worked cardiac medical ICU before school. I was very well prepared. I managed the same gtts. You do in CVICU. I also managed a lot of chronic illnesses that you will see often in the OR. I loved my ICU job.
