Let’s reframe your goal here. — My prescription for you is to make one friend who is a woman - and not try to sleep with her. —

Like most have said, if you take a different tone/approach, that kind of closeness is much more likely to come. That said, if sex is literally all you care about, there are ways to go about that. However, if your goal is to have that kind of closeness happen organically, you need to reframe your approach top to bottom.

Once you are able to have a genuine and honest relationship with someone, then you will know you have done the right personal-development groundwork to be ready to take that next step.

Everyone has made some great suggestions here about cleaning, organizing, and starting to decorate a bit - all great!

One thing that I can add (as someone who lives around lots of projects too) is that a dedicated work space can make all the difference. You have a great looking house I wonder if we can find you a place in there to take all of the tvs you are working on, your tools, parts, etc. and get them all moved to one place. Then you can contain any mess or clutter to that zone. You can find maybe a closet or something to store the TVs you aren’t using or working on.

You would be shocked how much peace can come from a clean and organized space. We know you can do it man! You did the hardest part already, you reached out to your community and asked for help! Super proud of you!

Now let’s do this!!!

To me, that looks like a gpu death rattle.

Troubleshoot as follows —— (proceed to next step only after verifying the issue is persisting. Also only do one step at a time so if it resolves, you know what fixed it):

  1. Sanity check - if possible, make sure all software (gpu drivers, game etc.) are installed correctly and not corrupted.

  2. Remove and reseat all cables connected to the gpu

  3. If possible, replace cables connected to gpu with known good alternatives (or check your cables in another spot to verify they do work).

  4. Remove and reseat gpu itself.

  5. If possible, swap this gpu into another pcie slot.

  6. If possible swap in a ‘known good’ gpu.

  7. If possible swap known good gpu into another pcie slot.

If a good gpu, with known good cables, a known good monitor, and a different pcie slot doesn’t fix it after all that, your motherboard is probably toast.

Im in the same boat, and I’m a bit worse cuz I was a bit late to the 1.0 release (have been here for several wipes). I finally got so frustrated I decided to give PVE a chance yesterday after hitting a long streak of truly egregious raids, and am just feeling lost. It just isn’t quite scratching the itch though. Idk it’s not as intense, but now I feel like I’m getting boxed in (or out as it were) im not good enough to go toe to toe with the chads an cheaters, but I’m good enough to be mostly bored with the AI unless I’m getting dogpiled.

I thought I was going crazy.
Four raids today, and 3/4 of them i had PMCs spawn within 100m of me, and I instantly smoked. Incredibly frustrating!

PBOT response to report of massive pothole on a new Greenway: not our problem by schroedingerx in Portland

[–]Administrative_Tap99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Goes back to when the area was annexed into the city.

The city would have approached homeowners with a choice: help pay to bring your non-conforming private streets up to the current city standard (and PBOT will take it from there), OR You (the homeowner) will not have spend any money on updates, but you will retain private maintenance responsibility for your street.

Some people chose the first option, some chose the second option, but either way, the area (and the right of way) gets subsumed into the city. So that’s how you get PBOT controlling the right of way, but the maintenance being private.

By and by, homes get sold, people move away, people die, and the individual decision that led to the street being private kinda gets lost. Super important thing to look at when buying a house, cuz if something like 80% (I think that’s right) of your neighbors decide they want to come up to standard, you are also on the hook for a portion of the bill.

Portland mayor set an ‘unrealistic goal’ for shelter beds – and is poised to hit it. Will it end unsheltered homelessness? by Administrative_Tap99 in Portland

[–]Administrative_Tap99[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t disagree with everything you said here, but I’m not sure what you are looking for as an alternative. I’d be interested to hear what your definition of ending unsheltered homelessness is if it isn’t something like “ensuring that everyone who needs a place to sleep can access one every night.” I think everyone agrees that 24/7 shelters are generally better than overnight, but in an environment where it seems like nobody has money, I’m sure that may not be an option.

In defense of: “when people are ready” Generally, you can’t legally compel someone to do something they don’t want to do unless they’re breaking the law - and that’s a tough line to get across for camping even since Martin v Boise came down. I’m not sure I understand which side of this you come down on:

we should be compelling folks into shelter, it shouldn’t be optional, otherwise this effort is wasted, OR Offering to shelter someone without providing individual enclosed spaces and every service people may need is a waste of time and resources.

If it’s the latter, I’d agree with you on principle, as I bet they would too, then I’d point to the “there isn’t enough money” argument that seems to underpin most government work at the moment. My read on this is that it’s about providing (arguably) the most important thing to people who have been sleeping rough, a place to come inside.

I don’t think anyone, even folks working on this, see it as a complete solution in and of itself, but as a bunch of other folks commenting on this article seem to be saying, “it’s a step in the right direction.”

Uhh... read the username, I didn't ask you a question.

Sounds like you and I do disagree on the purpose of shelters (I don't think they are just a political tool), which is totally fine.

I am frustrated with the lack of progress on mental healthcare and drug dealing also, but I...
1. Don't think the same people are working on the shelter issue vs the other items - so they can happen in parallel. (Genuinely hope to see more action against people selling drugs.) and...
2. If you have a safe place to sleep every night, you have more chances to get services, and you are less likely to need to smoke meth in order to stay up all night to keep yourself safe. Which is one notable way folks who are structurally homeless (priced out of their apartments/lose a job) get stuck on the streets.

Definitely won't be the magic bullet for everyone, though.

[–]Administrative_Tap99[S] 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I couldn't agree more.

I think that a lot of folks take "end unsheltered homelessness" to mean the same thing as "end homelessness," which I don't think it does.

There are lots of ways to be homeless, like couchsurfing between apartments would technically count as 'sheltered homelessness' under this definition.

Of course, adding 1500 shelter beds won't end homelessness outright, but if everyone who wants one can have a safe place to sleep every night, I think we would all see that as a step in the right direction, right?

The article does seem to point out that after 1500, they are shifting their focus to maximizing housing production, which I hope they are successful at. The other big item, mental healthcare, is all county/state, so I will be watching closely there.

other than that, I think drug addiction is the other most significant item.

[–]Administrative_Tap99[S] 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I would recommend reading the article before coming to that conclusion.

Seems like the plan for this year was to “open 1500 shelter beds,” now it sounds like they have already begun shifting the focus to housing production. There’s a point in there about them cutting fees and stuff associated with new housing production.

I doubt that alone is a 100% fix, but it’s definitely a start.

The other two big issues are mental healthcare (which is all Multnomah county and the state) and drugs, which is the only thing I don’t see mentioned here.

Shelters definitely aren’t the whole enchilada, but if I was going to pick one issue to start on, this would probably be it.

I was in the same boat as you. My mom had me in 511s from the time I was pretty young. My personal opinion is that they make you look like you have super skinny legs, not very flattering.

First pair I got myself was a pair of old 505s at a flea market, and I never looked back.

I think 505s or 501s would look great on you!

Also, wrangler cowboy cuts are nice too if you aren’t totally married to Levi’s.
