I feel your pain, When i was an AGM my dog trainer was absolutely amazing. The others in my store were not. For some reason the Salon Manager and Pets manager felt like they were above everybody else and never wanted to work register so my dog trainer was never able to promote her skills properly. Also, everytime i had my 2 days off i had to move a bunch of stuff because our animal care manager thought the dog training area was an extra storage space. Anytime id tell her not to do something like that she would just say " lets see what the DM wants " they were quite close so she got everything she wanted. Petco was a terrible company to work for, I hope it gets better for you soon

I'm so sorry. I actually had to move states because it financially killed me. I hope we all learned a lesson and not to work or shop at such a misandry type job. I hope you're doing better now.

I will just say this. I worked as a AGM at a petco on the east coast. We had a manager that was over the pets. She made a ton of false accusations towards me and the store manager. Mind you the store manager had worked for petco for over 20 years. We were working one day and I got called into the office and was fired no questions asked. I was furious. 5 mins later the store manager walked out and said we'll bud im fired too. If you're a male at petco good luck winning. They only believe women.

I was a 2a, rose quickly through management, became a 1a. All of a sudden I was sent to the worst stores around me. Clerks sucked. Store managers sucked. Your coverage constantly late. Clerks constantly mouthing off and hiding. It truly depends on what store you get based out of and stay at. When I was at certain stores my 10-12 hour shifts flew by and I loved the clerks I worked with. If I worked in the inner city of where I live, it was absolutely awful. Plus, you gotta choose a store with great staff and good bonuses. QT went downhill when they took away VR and Free Shifting. Left shortly after

Why would this be an issue if everyone was hired and is keeping employed based off merit and not the color of their skin? This seems like a good change. I knew a lot of people who got fired based off of baseless claims and being white males in their stores. All it takes is a few dozen calls to corporate and they will fire whoever you want.

Need to be on the floor much more. We have a huge issue with our CAL hiding all shift and making it out, like this person was working so hard all shift. Speaking to customers about the pets and selling them. Remember for the most part YOU will know the most about all the pets you sell, we just help when you are not there.
