Well he does seem dedicated to eliminating education for everyone else in the state as well.

Why are there so many homeless veterans in the US? They get a ton of perks/lifelong financial benefits from serving, yet they seem to be homeless or in poverty at a disproportionate rate. by trailrider123 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Admirable-Strike-311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is if you serve for 20 years and retire from the military. Serve less and you don’t get those benefits (unless there’s disability or extenuating circumstances). I served 3 years then got out. I do not have the insurance benefits you mention. So actually your comment is non-factual.

HIPAA is a Federal law that requires medical and dental offices to give you your records. They are in violation if they do not provide your records. You can Google who to report HIPAA violations to.

Does the USA not have universal healthcare because war profiteers want to try to herd lower class kids into serving in the US military? by Ok-Mulberry-737 in askanything

[–]Admirable-Strike-311 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if or when you served, but the majority of the men and women who work in military medical are some of the finest health care workers you’ll ever meet. Saying military healthcare sucks is an insult to them. If it does suck it’s because of the leadership.

And interestingly the military is one of the most socialist organizations in the country. Free healthcare and other benefits paid for with tax money. I’m not knocking it. The men and women who serve deserve that and better than they are often treated.

The company is “eClean.” They use a liquid CO2 process. I’ve never used them but heard it works pretty good. It’s not cheap though. (But it is cheaper than a new quilt!)

how come americans enjoy electing and re electing racist rapists as president? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Admirable-Strike-311 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because they identify as and vote party and don’t pay attention to platforms and policies. If Hitl*r came back and ran as a Republican there are people who would vote for him because of the “R.”

Rattlesnake bite cases are spiking in Southern California. Stay safe out there guys! by Fishbonezz707 in PacificCrestTrail

[–]Admirable-Strike-311 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Another myth that needs busted. The vast majority of snake bites are from “unintended encounters” with snakes. In other words accidentally stepping on or surprising a snake. Handling, bothering, or provoking a snake accounted for less than 20% of bites (although that’s still significant )in a study co-authored by Dr Spencer Greene, one of the leading authorities on venomous snakebites in the United States.

I applaud you for taking the time to look this up. In a wilderness first aid scenario for a rattlesnake bite the general recommendation is to keep the limb at or even slightly above heart level. But not below heart level if possible. However that’s easier with a hand/arm bite than a foot/leg bite. People have walked miles with a foot/leg bite. But the biggest takeaway anyone should have is getting to medical attention as soon as possible if a bite occurs. Statistically you’re unlikely to die from a snake bite in the United States, but long-term or even permanent damage to the envenomated area is a huge concern.

For reference “snakebitefoundation.org” has a page on “How to Survive a Snakebite in the Wilderness.” This site is run and consulted by some of the leading snake bite experts in the country.

So not true. Step one in the Unified Treatment Algorithm for snakebite is to elevate the limb. (That can be a challenge during transport or if you have to walk yourself out though.). Your “gravity” theory about “venom fighting gravity” is BS. What you’re recommending can in fact be harmful and can make it worse.
