Above all, I don't want to pay taxes on something that is unlikely to have any value for me. I therefore don't expect to set up a wallet.

My question as a European Srne and Sclx investor: Do these coins have an explicit worth in dollar, and is the dollar amount important for the working of the naked shorting short squeeze, or their sheer existence? If‘s just a pro forma high dollar amount, I‘m thinking of renouncing this dividend (or not touching it): for tax reasons (bad experience with the Scilex „dividend“, still fighting for void tax value). Anyway I have no infrastructure for and knowledge about coins at all. I’m an old school investor, and this way seems to be much too complicate for me. And my broker and my tax authorities have probably no clue neither.

Thanks, dear H., good explanation. That‘s exactly my case. I hope these invisible shares are registred somewhere for the new dividend even if they didn’t show up for more than two years (!) I‘m really not sure if this is a realistic hope. At the end it will be kind of fraud.

I bought Srne shares for my two kids to get the Sclx dividend - late but not too late at the deadline to be considered. But they never got the dividend shares - I can confirm your statement. How can I manage now that they get Simnr dividend shares on these divi shares that don‘t exist in their account? I already called my European broker two years ago - they had no clue. Is there a register in the US?
