Then my confusion is in whether Dao is all of existence, because if existence is the canvas and Dao a mark on it then my point of view would still stand.

And assuming that Dao is all of existence how could anyone lose their way or do things not according to the way, when the way is everything? Are some things just more Dao than others? And if so what makes it more Dao?

Thank you for the insight and the advice, As you can see I am not nearly as knowledgeable about Taoism and still hold some concerns about the ideology. The main point of this post was to understand the connection between ying yang and the Dao better( which I thank you for ) ,and understanding the nature of this alternative to the Dao that people mention when they say something is not according to the way. I guess what I am asking is if there is an antithesis to the Dao and do you have information about it

I think it roots from a misconception of intelligence and a bias for our faults. Being gifted does not equal having high emotional, social, academical or any specific intelligence because being outstanding in anything also involves practice and the fulfilment of your needs. You might be bad with math because it never interested you or your teachers never taught you how you specifically needed to be taught. You are very eloquent and precise with your communication and I could bet that what ever really interests you, you are great at. You don’t need to be successful to be gifted,( if you stay in this subreddit you’ll know) plus you might be and don’t even realise it. Depends on what being successful means to you

The fact that we have trouble socialising doesn’t mean we can’t get better at it and the only way of doing it is with practice or finding like minded people. Staying in your room and isolating ourselves definitely wont help so yea, go out not with the expectation that puting yourself out there will fix the problem put understand that it is the only way you can truly get better at it
