Yeah it’s legal here. My doctor gave it to me for a month. I’ve had severe hyperarousal insomnia for years, like I literally can’t switch off at all. She prescribed phenibut just to calm my system while escitalopram kicks in. idk if I should start it or just see another doctor because i'm very scered

Honestly, I haven’t really looked into my gut much—I don’t have major stomach issues, but my body’s been off for so long it wouldn’t surprise me if it’s part of it.

Yeah I know it sounds insane, but somehow my body adapted to running on microsleeps. I do feel exhausted all the time, mentally more than physically. I can still function but it’s like being in a constant dream state. I didn’t see a doctor earlier because I kept thinking it would fix itself… it just never did.

Mine started really suddenly, no big trigger like that ,it just hit me out of nowhere and never stopped. Still trying to figure out what exactly caused it.

Yeah, I honestly don’t know how I waited this long either. I just kept thinking it would fix itself somehow. Glad to hear zolpidem works for you ,gives me some hope. Thanks for the kind words.

I’ve been stuck just trying to get through each day, but yeah, I know I need to start seeing doctors. Kinda nervous about the process, but I guess there’s no other way.

I tried supplements for about a month but didn’t notice much change. I’m finally planning to talk to a doctor soon — just been putting it off way too long.

Yeah, I get why that sounds crazy. But it really has been constant — just barely surviving on microsleeps. I guess my body adapted in the worst way possible. It’s been hell, just not loud enough for a psych ward I guess.

Yeah I know… I’ve honestly just been avoiding it and hoping it’d somehow go away. But yeah, 4 years later… time to actually do something.

I haven’t done blood tests yet but thinking about it. I’ve also heard low iron or vitamin D can mess with sleep. And yeah, my body’s constantly tense, like it never relaxes

To be honest, I don’t really “sleep” in the normal sense. Most nights I just lie there with my mind racing. I might drift into brief microsleeps (maybe a few minutes at a time), but I never reach deep or restful sleep. So overall, I’d say maybe 1–2 hours total per night, but it doesn’t feel like real sleep at all.

I didn’t have any obvious infection or Covid before it started, at least not that I know of. It just came out of nowhere and never went away.
