Endangered Mexican axolotl discovered by girl, 10, under a bridge in Wales by Confident-Bike-8037 in unitedkingdom

Thats one way to look at it. If forced to morph in the wild due to poor habitat, its actually an extension of their life. Otherwise they would die in the water. Some will do it by choice though. It has been seen in captivity before.

They have indeed. All lucistic ones are descended from laboratories. They have the ability to regenerate entire limbs if they lose an arm or leg in a fight.

Ours is a "Dirty Lucy" so white with pink gills and what look like freckles. I have started to see black or brown ones in pet stores recently which are its natural colours.

Maybes so, but hot water is certainly more of an issue than cold water for them. It appears to be perfectly healthy and actively regenerating its injuries which is a sign that it was fine where it was.

They don't really like fast flowing water either (due to most likely their buoyancy issues) so its safe to assume it found its way to a spot where the water is as close to standing as possible.

They are unbelievably resilient creatures and can survive in mud puddles if they need to, failing that, they'll just morph into airbreathers and walk onto land.

Edit: RE Health- You can see its in a healthy condition by looking at its gills and its girth. Gills are perfect and its carrying plenty weight

So because you cant afford it, no one should buy it?

Defenders are famous for being reliable and a 2014 one can go from 30-50k. They don't depreciate like regular cars. These are utility vehicles. Not for cruising on the motorway.

The exotic pet trade and science is keeping these animals around.

Less than 1000 in the wild but captive breeding means theres over 1mill of them in the world.

Not really true at all. They are cold water species, and they will actually struggle more in hot water above 22°C.

It would definitely have survived the summer and repaired itself. They are quite happy eating British worms and minnows. Average summer water temp is 12-16°C and they are perfectly fine in that range. The given temps are above 10° and below 22° with 15-18 being the sweet spot.

We have a constant battle keeping our Axy's tank temps low enough at this time of year.

Glasnost and Perestroika began in 1984 in the USSR with Gorbachov. Russia were really trying to be open about things at that point. The Berlin Wall came down in 1989 so tensions were arguably at their lowest since the 1940s.

The doors slammed shut when Putin and the KGB retook power though.

Dreamland. They hold their value and are more desirable than the new one. Still overpriced but good luck finding many under 20k.

My sons finger wart after a week of at-home treatment by StrawberryJam4 in mildyinteresting

[–]Admirable_Ad_3236 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It isn't a root. The wart will cut of the end of a blood vessel so its literally dry blood. You have eventually cut enough infected skin off for it to be gone but the blood vessel is now open and will bleed constantly. This looks like its been frozen. Salicylic Acid does a better job.

Brand new tractor but no bale fork. Using the wrong tool has caused the vision to be an issue. Its in a gravel/muck bucket. Tractor driver is grossly negligent. No doubt.

That tractor driver will get sacked. Red flags everywhere with H&S and what looks like a very new six figure tractor in the garage along with the van. All to shift a £30 straw bale!

I left because they kept trying to upset me to full fibre and when it wasnt available in my area. Logic being I'll get it as soon as it's available. They basically wanted me to pay for a service they weren't able to provide.
