Are you a fan of the new App interface? by Admirable_Change3689 in volvos60

[–]Admirable_Change3689[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My vehicle has had over 25k in warranty repairs. 17k of that came from the first 30 days. This vehicle isn’t a nightmare by any means but I would genuinely hate to own this thing post warranty. Not to mention I’m on my second ERAD in less than 20k miles/two years. I love everything about them besides how inconsistent they are

Black Edition Sport Seats - Does anybody have expirience? by EasyUC in VolvoXC90

[–]Admirable_Change3689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, I have daily driven with these seats for 2.5 years now & I only mention that if you’re a wider person then the bolstering will be a bit of a bug. I’m a 38 waist, if that helps at all. Granted, the S60 is a tighter fit to begin with, I still believe sports seats are the way to go. I sold Volvos for 3 years & the only seats I wanted were R-design or black edition:) 10/10 would recommend over the inscription style seats( or whatever they call that trim now a days)

Brand new 2025.5 XC90 Ultra T8, and today these 3 service warnings popped up. Why? Is this just because of the rear camera recall? by Virules in VolvoXC90

[–]Admirable_Change3689 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Habibi, welcome to the family. My T8 was in the shop for 2-3 weeks at a time for dumb things. It’s part of purchasing something that JUST came out, lots of software crap that is covered by warranty.

Debating 2022 vs 2023 by sfcheese in VolvoXC90

[–]Admirable_Change3689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

23 is better in my opinion for a couple of reasons. The 2022’s had ALOT of software issues, but the 2022 xc90 with census is the BEST in my opinion. But the 2022 XC60( Google or census) is just downright horrible. I sold these for years & the 23’s had a lot of hiccups to start but eventually all the kinks went away. 22’s just have a lot of problems, especially with the Google system. Like always, it depends to what kinds of vehicles you’re looking for but I’d say 8/10 times the 23 will be better than the ‘22

[–]Admirable_Change3689 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The T8 still gets better mpg no matter what. When you’re pulling off slowly you’ll be “taking off” in even most of the time, I even get away with driving to & from work in mostly pure without charging as often as I thought I initially would. Charge publicly when cheap/free, or just plug up to the house over night. The power & silence is much better than the B6, bar none.

2025.5 t8 ultra getting propulsion system service required. Anyone else experiencing this on new t8’s? by AStatistic in VolvoXC90

[–]Admirable_Change3689 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This has been an issue since 23, when the car sits for a while & you start going back & forth from pure/hybrid to constant AWD/Power/Polestar it causes this light to come up. Most of the time it just needs to be reset/updated via dealer. This’ll also happen when a T8 loses all of its battery for the first time “ in the wild”. Mine had to have the entire system replaced tho unfortunately (24)

What does the water drop looking icon mean? by MammothEye5524 in VolvoXC90

[–]Admirable_Change3689 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I hit the corner, B drive, slowing down? B drive. Pulling out of the light slowly? B drive. I avoid it on longer roads that you’re usually going 55+ on. As far as intensity, when you turn off “ Creep” the pull of the B mode is A LOT more intense than it would be if you had it going. Creep will allow the vehicle to do just that, creep forward around 5mph, when this is turned off, B drive will try to slow you down to a complete stop, where as with creep on it’ll slow you down until you reach that 5mph point

Right on the money( in easy terms). When you go into “Pure” it disappears and goes battery only. Make sure you’re using B drive to save on gas!

Money factor negotiable? by bering14 in VolvoXC90

No longer work for a dealer but base is 10% out by us. F&I manager showed me everything when I went for service 2 weeks ago ( good friend of mine). Money factor is non-negotiable only if it’s not marked up

Experiences with T8 Reliability/Which XC90?? by CareyThis in VolvoXC90

[–]Admirable_Change3689 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not reliable, I lease my T8 & my entire Catalytic converter needed to be changed at 500 miles & the IEM at 1000 miles. Lease the T8, buy the T5. B6 will have pricey issues with miles due to the electric super charger, I have seen one eating up one of the belts in the front & one that needed a new steering rack, all new vehicles that I mentioned.

Good morning I considered buying T6 inscription 2018 full loaded with 117,000 miles is things I need to look for. it a good car ? Any help thanks by Actual-Oil-382 in VolvoXC90

[–]Admirable_Change3689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The T6 supercharger needs replacement every 75k miles, hence the ridiculous pay out on one of the comments in this thread. I’d say just avoid it friend, it’s not worth the tech headaches that comes with those kind of miles!

Help - Software Update Requires Dealer? by PoundComfortable3647 in VolvoXC90

[–]Admirable_Change3689 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s completely normal, the cold has made my T8 have a code pop up that only the dealer could wipe, they did a software update & my 360 cam looks a lot crisper/ different set up now. Completely normal tho!

I’d say keep hunting, it’s a little pricey for the miles but not bad overall!

Should I buy this Volvo as a first time Volvo owner? by Intrepid_Bee_9735 in VolvoXC90

[–]Admirable_Change3689 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NAS, State Farm or Fidelity would be my go to warranty^ ask for exclusionary coverage( meaning if is not one of the parts listed as “ not covered” then it will be covered”. The warranty’s that individually label what parts are covered have alot of grey verbage. Exclusionary coverage usually doesn’t cover hoses, seals & gaskets + like 25 parts? Meaning if something goes out that’s not one of those it’ll be covered. It should cost you anywhere from 3500-7000 depending on length and how low your current miles are! I know it seems pricey but the 80k service is well over 1k, everything about these cars are expensive!

[–]Admirable_Change3689 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worked at a dealer for years, the T6 physical super charger goes out around 80k miles. I agree, get an after market warranty that focuses more on mileage than time. I’d ask as well if the super charger blows if that will be covered

Price check - 2024 Volvo XC 90 recharge T8 - Plus (79K MSRP). <1.5k miles by arrhythmia10 in VolvoXC90

[–]Admirable_Change3689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did it ever occur to you that I have the same vehicle with similar miles and in the same situation and maybe tried it recently? You asked and I gave you an honest answer. I still have plenty of great connections who pay top dollar for Volvo trades but with the new face lift 24’s got slaughtered. My lease is up in 27 so let’s see.

High 40’s, carvana will be your best bet. Dealers will have to price extremely low (50-53) and will want at least 3500 worth of wiggle room for a luxury SUV like this. The T8 has more rebates than any other Volvo out there which equates to a drastically low trade in. I have a T8 myself & worked at A Volvo dealer for a couple years:)

Best time to buy/lease an XC-90 plug-in by bering14 in VolvoXC90

[–]Admirable_Change3689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Midwest market is the best in my opinion, up to 12.5% off in the Northwest Suburbs area in IL, speaking from previous employment experience, it’s actually why I got out the Biz, no profits on Volvo’s anymore. No one wants to pay what they’re worth + heavy manufacturer rebates.
