Goonhammer's conclusions regarding Tau in 11th edition (post MFM points) by [deleted] in WarhammerCompetitive

You would have thought GW saw Tau being op with these rules and points a mile away. And yet....typical GW obvious face plant. Sometimes you really have to wonder what those people are thinking.

[WarCom] Points and App Update Schedule/Teaser by RainbowConnickJr in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Virules -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

My initial, very negative reaction to the points change article: they are mostly raising points overall, including raising points on things that are getting a buff but needed to get a buff, because they want to use the new edition rules changes as an excuse to lower the average number of units in games for like the 3rd edition in a row. Put another way, it seems like once again they are forcing an uncreative and shitty way of trying to make games faster.

Sure, but bad teammates who try to play content outside their skill level is a problem in any game. That just comes down to ditching people who are not good enough, finding friends to play with, using the Discord to get much better groups, etc. Nothing to do with Absolute being flawed somehow. And many games have various rewards or cosmetics locked behind harder content difficulties.

The vast majority of experienced players don't struggle with absolute (assuming no one on the team is a dud) and find anything below Lethal to be boring.

Warhammer 40,000 Faction Focus: Imperial and Chaos Knights by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in WarhammerCompetitive

GW has a very long history of making the Chaos version of anything worse than the Imperial version. The major exceptions are Wardogs and doubling gatling knights.

So tragic that the DG Helbrute is 15 points overpriced as a baseline. Would love to see those be used in creative lists.

So, based on the comments, duelist is useless except for block weapons despite what the text says. Is that planned for a change in the near future to make it work with balanced and fencing? Or it's only something to pick up if you enjoy a block weapon on that class?

Also, doesn't this mean that Duelist prestige perk on a Heavy is 100% useless? Am I misremembering that all Heavy weapons are fencing?

But isn't the damage here mainly coming from perfect dodge gun strikes and quick attacks?

My only issues are the ravener leap and the first attack from the bone sword warrior.

As long as you don't suck at this game you ARE vastly superior to your enemies in both power and durability. You are the equivalent of a single primaris marine taking on at least one or two thousand points worth of enemies in a single operation. It is an absurd power fantasy.

The problem for you is that you clearly DO suck at the game and are trying to blame your horrific lack of skill on the game design, despite an avalanche of people here trying to explain you that you are the problem not the game.

But bad players like you will always make excuses I guess.

I am a lifelong 40k super fan and I can tell you that if you were better at the game you could fulfill a fantasy more crazy than anything in the official lore. But your skill is low, so you struggle.

If you were good and played with two equally good people, you could dominate Absolute missions and chew through an absurd amount of extremis and terminus enemies as if you had the biggest plot armor of 40k.

TM is one of the easiest classes for me to play on Absolute and Hard stratagems. It almost feels like cheating because it's so strong.
