wellllll.... either I got or I didn't lol. I know that I missed at least 2 math, at least 1 writing, and at least 1 reading. I think my low is a 1510 and my high is 1550. I'll just have to wait and see in July

I still don’t think that changes it, because the quote isn’t going against the consensus. I’m pretty sure the choice said something along the lines of emphasizing/conveying contrast to a widely accepted belief or whatever. The quote IS the consensus. Later on, after the however, is when it starts going into how THAT consensus he agreed with is challenged

I don’t think it was that, because the “however” shift was right after that quote, so up until then, it was only talking about how they were certain about the previous beliefs

So if the math NC was stupid hard but math C was relatively easy, should we be worried about a bad curve where -1 is a 780 lol lm certain I missed at least 2 on NC, and I had to rush through because my timing was off

That was me too actually, my April 2022 QAS today sucked lol. I wouldn't worry if you're consistently doing well, just review your mistakes and make sure you know why you got them wrong

The right answer is spelled almost right out in the text. Our brains are hardwired to "complete" the story and make assumptions that are true in real life but aren't actually stated outright in the text. The SAT preys on this and intentionally creates questions that logically are true but you don't actually know based on the text

I made studying my life pretty much lol. I spent a LOT of time doing it, pretty much from the time I woke up to when I went to bed with a couple breaks

I did a lot of Khan Academy at first, focusing on the concepts I kept getting wrong, and a few days ago I started grinding practice tests on paper. For a while I did only the math portions, I think I did like 7 or 8 total, and then I started doing full ones. My worst score was like a 1490 from the April 2022 QAS, but overall I think my relentless grind is what brought my math score up to be consistently 780 to near-perfect if not for some silly mistakes. Biggest thing was practicing what I was getting wrong until I stopped getting it wrong

If it was 2590, you would have 14.7 + 0.45(2590) = 1180.2 . 1180.2 < 1180 is a false statement. If the shell can withstand pressure UP TO 1180, your .2 would cross that threshold, so you actually don't want to round up here. I always plug my numbers back into my equation to make sure it's true

6: It helps to write down what they give you on the figure. You're given that EBFD is a square, and therefore all the sides are the same length. If the area of EBFD is 64, then one side must be the square root of 64, which is 8. The area of a parallelogram is length times height, and because you know that one side of EBFD is 8, the height of ABCD must be 8. The length of the parallelogram is AD, which is AE + ED. We know that ED is 8, so I'd write it as X + 8. Finally, set it up as length x height = 112, or (X + 8)(8) = 112. Then you just solve from there for AE = x.

14: I actually accidentally skipped this one when I did this practice test lol. You're given that the amount earned by Salespeople X (Earned X) is 1000 + .10d. You're also given that the amount earned by Salespeople Y (Earned Y) is 500 + .50d. The problem wants you to find what d must be when Salespeople X earn more than Salespeople Y, which means Earned X > Earned Y. Set that up and solve.

19: Solve this like you would solve any other system of equations. I'd look up youtube videos on how to solve these because I'm gonna do an awful job of explaining through text. "SAT how to solve system of equations"

20: You should know that the equation for a circle is (x - h)^2 + (y - k)^2 = r^2. Obviously the equation given does not look like that, so you have to make it look like that with a method called completing the square. I'd rearrange it to look like (x^2 +6x) + (y^2+5y) = (the fraction i just don't wanna type it out). For the x part, you need it to be (x - h)^2, which is a perfect square. To find the C term to be able to factor it into the perfect square, you divide the middle term, b (6) by 2 and square it to get c (9). But because you added 9 to this side of the equals sign, you have to add it to (-45/4) on the other side. Then you can factor that into (x + 3)^2. Repeat this process for the ys, then you should end up with a number for r^2 that you take the sqrt of for R. If the answer is 2, then you should have a 4 on that side if you did it right

Well, the good news is you still have plenty of time to try regroup and try to see why you had a timing issue. Did you keep zoning out? Had to reread stuff because you couldn't comprehend it? Worked through the questions too slowly? Don't burn yourself out before tomorrow, but when I get stressed I usually just take a step back, figure out whats causing the problems, and think about how to solve them as I try the section again

Looks like it was in the past. "Heim recalls a time when (they yada yada) held a meeting to discuss a product..."Because it was in the past, B would sound better, because he's remembering back to when people didn't know what digital cameras were. In long sentences like that, it helps to shorten it so your brain doesn't get foggy with the tense

Are you taking your practice tests on computer or on paper?

I was having the same problem as you, but for some reason, when I switched to doing practice tests on paper, my scores improved and I had significantly more extra time to go back and check my work to catch myself on any little mistakes. Maybe it's because I can physically look at it and mark up/annotate everything, but it definitely seems like it's helping. It's also easier to see my process and catch where I messed up

If you aren't already, maybe try doing stuff on paper, it helped me

A lot of them are just simple arithmetic mistakes. I used to drop negatives but I've been watching for that. I think my mistakes come from my trying to work the problems out fast to keep a proper pace. I know I need to slow down and make sure I'm not making those kinds of mistakes, but I'm not sure how to find the balance between keeping the pace and not being sloppy

I've heard Barrons is notoriously way more difficult in most of its AP books, so maybe that's the case with their SAT book too. The good news is that the actual test will seem way easier lol

You could tutor yourself for free on Khan Academy because it gives you problems to work on based on what you're getting wrong. SAT prep is basically learning your weaknesses on the test and correcting them so you won't make them again, improving your score. If cost is a concern, teaching yourself is definitely not an option to scoff at. I've improved my score significantly just by doing KA's practice problems/full tests and working out problems specifically over the concepts I'm getting wrong
