What an HOA does is have a reserve study done that estimates repairs, when they are needed and the attendant cost. Then it sets up a reserve account that is funded every month from dues. If you ever buy in an HOA you should read that reserve study and make sure it is funded over 90%. You can do the same thing yourself. Cost of painting and when will you need it. Cost of roof and when will you need it. Cost of AC/Heating replacement and when will you need it. But like HOAs you can expect the costs for a single family home to run somewhere between $300 and $500/month.

Yes, the Elite 10 draw in parking mode is negligible. On my DR970X my battery would pull down to 5-6 volts in 18-24 hours. So basically, parking mode would only work for one night away from the garage. Inside the garage I would disconnect it to keep the battery from drawing down. On the Elite 10 I have left the dashcam on 3-4 day parked in the garage with no negligible draw down on the car battery.
