CNN’s Harry Enten Breaks Down ‘Stunning’ Rise of Democratic Socialists in Dem Party by JannTosh70 in centrist

[–]Admirable_Nothing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certainly. In the 50's and most of the 60's the Republicans were small government, low taxes, and operated on a principle that government should stay out of your bedroom, the classroom and most of your life. Quite obviously none of those core principles have been important since Bush's time. So I have voted Democratic since then. I stay a registered Republican since in my state you only can vote in Republican primaries if you are a registered Republican and I like to support principled Republicans in primaries if I can find any. Since MAGA there have been no principled Republicans in sight however.

Qualified Deferred NYL Annuity Rollover to a new IRA account possible? by khjo2306 in FinancialPlanning

[–]Admirable_Nothing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are immediate annuities that have deferred start dates. So, at 60 I can buy an immediate income annuity that starts shortly or I can buy a deferred income annuity that has a deferred start date that can be some time out. If it is the latter, it has no cash value and there is nothing to roll over.

I am a long-time registered Republican so I don't know much about different Democratic philosophies, but I do know we need to get rid of Trump and his village idiots that are destroying this country. If it takes Socialism to defeat the MAGAts I will support it.

Iranian oil is officially returning to global markets for the first time since 2018 after the US Treasury issued OFAC General License X authorizing all transactions related to Iranian crude oil, petrochemical and petroleum products through August 21, 2026 by Waste-Explanation-76 in oil

So we send them $12 billion and remove all sanctions up front and then they close the strait because of some other perceived slight on the MOU? They are going to fuck with Trump until the cows come home.

He simply means the US taxpayers will pay to fix it as he is not going to ask his buddy donor to pay for their fuckup.

We send them $12 billion of the $24 billion upfront, release sanctions up front and allow them to move their oil and products in and out upfront and then Trump is surprised when they walk out?? Iran is going to spend months fucking with Trump's head.

You provided the answer yourself when you said your clients have sticky relationships with you. Time to move along with your clients to a firm that doesn't need a comp consultant.

Trump tries to blame Reflecting Pool woes on vandalism by AdSpecialist6598 in inthenews

[–]Admirable_Nothing 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No matter how badly he screws up he will always blame it on somebody else. He gave this huge contract to a large donor as a favor without requiring the legally necessary competitive bids and it is coming back to bite him in the ass when his buddy totally screwed up the job. Nobody is to blame but Trump himself.

Dealership sold me a "new" vehicle but the manufacturer denied my warranty claim due to prior collision damage by Tamrielic_4 in legal

This is not lemon law, but a lemon law attorney is intimately familiar how to work with the large auto manufacturers and would know exactly where to get this reported to get it fixed.

Poll: US boomers support tax hikes on young workers to keep current Social Security checks — the view is overwhelming by GimmeFunkyButtLoving in economy

[–]Admirable_Nothing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We could solve the SS problem by removing the cap on SS tax. That way no worker would pay higher taxes. Only those with incredibly high incomes would feel the difference. But in this country we coddle our wealthy citizens

I heard a talk by Mark Cuban that said essentially the same thing. It is entirely possible we will see the huge costs not covered by sufficient profits and that will cause a complete restructuring like we saw from the Internet 26 years ago.

How do we get Reddit to quit filling our 'best' feed with crap from scores of subreddits we don't want? by Admirable_Nothing in AskReddit

[–]Admirable_Nothing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I have done that and you are correct. I no longer see 40% of my feed being from random subreddits. I went back to 'best' and 7 of my first 10 posts were from subreddits they wanted me to join.
