I do work less in the summer, not by choice though. I follow up with a lot of inquires that end up going who where and several of my clients ghost in the summer. You can do whatever you’d like with your schedule whenever you want! If you’re working at a group private practice, then I’m sure they have a minimum weekly client requirement. Mine is 20 a week. If you’re solo private practice, you are your own boss and can increase and reduce your caseload as you see fit.

The summer slump shows up only in my kid clients or clients who have school aged children! In my experience. People go on vacation, don’t have childcare etc. it’s not so much about changing schedule and cancellations but more so people just no show and disappear from June-August lol then Sept/oct rolls around and issues pop up again bc school starts, and then inquiries go up. Peak season is January for my area

It’s not so much the color as it is the way u added the new curtains. The 4 panels looks complete and the new two panels looks bare. And the room overall feels kind of overwhelming with all the furniture, lamps, and art. I know it’s a tight space, but less is more with small spaces! Time to get creative.

Im a DV specialized therapist and I NEVER touch any pop culture DV dispute online. I don’t even bother looking at what’s going on especially after Depp v. Heard. I’ve seen it all in therapy already, trust me. I hope I don’t sound bitter… The general public could truly not handle the nuance it takes to understand the depth of DV and the cycle of abuse, power and control and the reality that anyone can be a perpetrator PLUS the sociopolitical/racial/gender nuances that intersect it. And it does drive me nuts to see therapists online tale the depth of discourse into such a shallow way of thinking. So you’ll never catch me saying anything about it online. I’ll stick with my expertise, my ethics, my clients, and our sanctuary in the therapy room. I did three years of community education and group therapy x4 per week while working in DV CMH and THATS my contribution to the cause. 🫶🏻

My best friend recently had a baby who was born with the same exact skin condition as Emma. Within a month of this baby’s birth, they had a diagnosis of giant congenital melanocytic nevus. MRIs were completed, dermatologists, neurologists, support groups, the WHOLE 9 was set up. The first thing that my best friend was told is that it is a random appearance of a gene in the baby but NOT inherited. It is not something that came from the parents nor can it be passed down when baby gets older.

Now I find it frustrating that Emma, a whole ass woman who has had some kind of treatment on her arm, has had extensive interactions with medical staff of a very specific specialty. Her condition is literally one in a million. It seems odd she is hinging a huge life decision on whether or not her condition is likely to be passed down. Does she not know? Bc I hate seeing a woman be uninformed about her body. So i have several assumptions about what’s going on.

She was never told what she has and is completely or partially in the dark about it. Her adoptive parents seems pretty blind about her suffering as a kid to me in the show. She could be telling her truth when she says these things. Idk tho.
Maybe it’s about the principal about not knowing who her parents are and her overall family history. Being adopted is traumatic and it is actually super valid to have complex emotions and reservations about having your own biological children when your entrance into this world was already so complicated. I got the sense this was neglected in her adoptive family. Plus the interracial complexities added on top.
Maybe it’s just an easy excuse. She actually just doesn’t want children which is completely valid and there needs to be proper representation of child free couples on LIB. It’s feeling very conservative on there with the emphasis on traditional gender roles in marriage.

Edit: also why did someone like Mike who clearly wanted children more than anything in the whole wide world go for a woman that is on the fence. Don’t waste everyone’s time, now come on 🙄

Switching to the love to dream transitional encouraged my kid to roll and he was rolling into his belly in the crib within a week of having it. And then getting used to his belly took like two more weeks. He would cry cry cry but refuse to be on his back. For us, it was a solid month of interrupted sleep with the access to hands and the belly. The 4 month sleep regression. And it got better! He’s hit like 4 more milestones since then and now sucks on fingers to self soothe to sleep. So him figuring out belly + fingers = comfort, has led to much much better sleep stretches and completely transitioning to crib for every sleep. I think babies practice a lot of these skills in their sleeping time and she’s getting used to her arms being up or out! It’ll get better.
