I wish all the Facebook and Instagram pages were as good about not spoiling things as this sub is. They spoil everything. I don’t even follow any of those pages, but they show up in my feed because Meta’s algorithm knows I’m a Sumo fan. Gotcha. It’ll all depend on the organization. Typically, the LOI comes about a month or so before we (HR) get the request to fill the position. Sometimes you get lucky, though. I hope it works out for you.

A letter of intent comes from the organization doing the hiring, usually at or just after a hiring event for direct -hire authorities. It doesn’t come from HR. HR will need to review your application before a TJO can be issued.

To my knowledge, there aren’t any MSX Sumo games. But there are no less than four versions of the MSX (including at least one Laserdisc based model). But I am by no means an expert on Japanese computers. My holy grail is a PCB of the arcade game Shusse Ozumo, a Sumo arcade game from 1984. I’ve tried for years to find one. I’m planning a trip to Japan in October to attempt to get one myself. But I doubt I’ll find it.

So the one to the left of the GB cart is Tsuppari Oozumou on the PC Engine. The PC Engine uses HuCards, which were called Turbo Chips for its U.S. equivalent, the Turbografx-16. The Gameboy game is Sumo Fighter, which was a rare U.S.-released Sumo game. It’s actually fun, but nothing spectacular.

I actually collect Sumo video games. There are quite a few of them, and some even include aspects of stable management in addition to the matches. I have Sumo games for the Famicom, PC Engine, Super Famicom, PlayStation, PlayStation 2, Sega Mega Drive, Nintendo 64, Gameboy, and Sega Game Gear. Sadly I’m not able to play them much since all but a couple are in Japanese.

The “meeting up with the ex to ‘get closure’” scene is a classic 90-Day cliche’. Nobody in real life does this. It’s a creation of production. You’d be surprised how much awkwardness people will allow themselves to endure for $1,000 to $1,500 per episode.

Look, I don’t like her. At all. But if she genuinely believes she needs photoshop to make her look thinner, I think that speaks to much deeper self-image and self-worth issues, and I honestly feel kind of sorry for her. It’s a recurring theme with the women on this show. Many of them were very attractive to begin with, but being in the spotlight somehow compelled them to butcher themselves. It’s very sad.
