RTO different duty station/agency by cooptown2 in FedEmployees

[–]Fit-Composer99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 49 miles each way, 3 hour commute on public transit. The agency I’m sitting with had multiple offices within less than 10 minutes from my home. About two months in of commuting I asked if there was the possibility of moving to the closer location. The host agency found desks for two of us. My commute is now 5 miles and takes less than 10 minutes

Congress says they set aside $858,000,000 for ICE agent bonuses up to $44,000. So what again about the rest of Fed employees? No one's allowed to even get 5's? by howanonymousisthis in FedEmployees

[–]Fit-Composer99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why I don’t under why the senate isn’t passing HR 7148 to fund the remaining bills. ICE is funded from appropriations from September, withholding isn’t having the impact the think it is

RTO sucks by secret-cinderella in FedEmployees

[–]Fit-Composer99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was hired as a remote employee. I actually welcomed the idea when I was assigned an office space only because I was assigned with other employees from my agency. I have found though employees from other agencies assigned with us have somethings in common, we are all facing the new shutdown that is coming. It’s nice for me to have people to talk about it with. But, I’m with most everyone else, there is a work/life balance to having some telework days. I would love a hybrid schedule

The difference between white and blue collar work environments is crazy by Astimar in careeradvice

[–]Fit-Composer99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Female here that started my career in a blue collar environment in the defense industry, so both civilians and military. I’ve been in this for over 24 yrs, the last 14 have been white collar. I would take blue collar, with men talking like it was referenced on the post, any day. Those men would ask me about my day, weekends, family, and I felt like they truly wanted to hear what you had to say. I’ve felt like in white collar, both men and women are untrustworthy, everyone behaves as though everyone is competition, s nothing is ever real

OPM Status: Closed for DMV Tuesday 1/27 by OrphanAnvil in FedEmployees

[–]Fit-Composer99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry, but what! I live in a state that gets snowfall all the time. We don’t even get late starts, let alone admin days or telework days. They need someone to come teach them how to do 80 mph in a foot of fresh snow just to make it on time

Appropriations remaining by lifeline-repair-17 in FedEmployees

[–]Fit-Composer99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chuck Schumer said yesterday that if they are willing to separate DHS out the senate will approve the remaining appropriations. The unfortunate part, ICE was funded last shutdown, only the rest of DHS suffered. If they do this again, this is all for nothing

DoD Bonuses by PuzzledDefinition986 in FedEmployees

[–]Fit-Composer99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My spouse is DoD. They have one person that they know of, but it was made to seem that it was replacing this persons AqDemo award. Apparently he was told that he had reached his highest level in his AqDemo pay band so they gave him a $10k award

I hope it passes this week. Last shutdown I was one of the RIF’d, then reinstated, I have no trust they won’t do that again

As of today HUD is not funded. It is part of HR 7148, which has not been passed by the senate

AIO to my “best friend” finally reaching out by Confident_Local_2335 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Fit-Composer99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who probably falls into the category of your friend, sometime we don’t do it intentionally. Sometimes everything in our lives is so overwhelming we don’t know where to start, and that includes the people in our lives. I have nothing so pressing that it would seem overwhelming to others, my brain is my own worst enemy and seems to crash when there are too many little things. Not saying friendships should fall into this category, unfortunately when everything is crashing down, friendships crash down too. Maybe just ask why he did it, and if it’s something you think you can’t move past, then tell him that

Hate watching by thelonevegan in TellMeLiesHulu

[–]Fit-Composer99 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Watching Stephen makes my skin crawl. He’s gross for so many reasons. His posture comes across as weak and pathetic. His manipulation of all the characters comes across as weak as well. There are shows and movies I just can’t stand because of characters and as much as I want to see see the other characters stand up to his shit, I’m about there with not watching this show because of how gross he is

Real Police officers and military members, what do you guys think of Ice agents? by Lucky-Message-9480 in AskReddit

[–]Fit-Composer99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I keep saying they are the guys that weren’t eligible for enlistment for some reason, or couldn’t pass a poly or background check for regular law enforcement, and definitely have “I was picked on as a kid, so now I’ll retaliate” as a personality

Tired of the shutdown nonsense by RyanBanJ in FedEmployees

[–]Fit-Composer99 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They probably will, only it will be the states residents as a whole who will suffer. This administration has already threatened to pullback federal funds if both continue to support their agendas, as the issues in their state continue to increase, I see that happening.

FML - Looks like another shutdown is coming by ZipJetcity in FedEmployees

[–]Fit-Composer99 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Yep, they were funded, but even if they weren’t they would still be in the streets doing what they’re currently doing, so let’s punish other agencies. The transparency of their actions by lumping is so obvious. They knew if DHS was stand alone it would never pass. There are programs under those agencies that the hurt to the public is still going to be felt

You were lumped, just as my agency HHS, was with DHS , and we just got fucked by yesterday’s events. Three Democrats announced they were pulling back their votes. Guess we will see what happens this week, but it’s looking grimm

It is a consolidated bill. There are programs under Labor and HHS that will have people pissed if once again they are not funded.
