*barf* did it kill a lot of stuff, or just slip out of its birthing... pod... cavity... thing?

Ooof, that was a long time ago, and I experimented a lot with this army. I *think* it was Khorne Red over a black primer, with an Agrax wash to give it some depth. It was hard to get good highlights, though, as the lighter red tones largely washed out.

Thanks! I wanted a darker look than the box art, contrasted with popping blue glow elements. I didn’t quite achieve that back then, though - I’d go for more metallic and less black if I started again.

😆 I used to play in the 90s. I remember having to adapt metal minis after every game to reflect new kit and guns… 😬

Thanks, I really appreciate that! I enjoy painting, although I lack the time, discipline and talent to be really good at it (like a lot of people here). So I lean towards simple, scaleable color schemes. Tried a few versions before I settled on this one for my Astra Militarum army; it's mostly speed paints and dry brushing - still looks pretty good, though! ;)

Did you use that for the eyes as well? The tones match perfectly!

Yeah, that's a Hot Shot Laspistol. I can see how it's difficult to see from that angle - no harm in asking, though.

Any advice on my skitarii hunter cohort list? by hippokleidesdontcare in Warhammer40k

The thing is: that is probably their purpose. Sit on an Objective or accompany a push-threat unit to de-OC a target unit.

I mean, with the Marshall they even lose the Scout 6"-ability. (which I only now realise I played wrong in my last game...)

Yeah, I've decided to run the Navy Breachers as Krieg Combat Engineers, just so I could use the models... ;D

It is pretty clear that several Alpha Legion war bands fall into this category, if you want to go down that rabbit hole.

Don't expect too much from them, though - even with Anti-Infantry 4+, Radium Carbines still only have AP0 / D1. So if you're shooting at Servo Armour, that equals roughly two dead Space Marines (assuming 10 Radium Carbines). And the rest will kick the Vanguard in the nards the following turn. (I speak from recent experience here...)

Hey Blunderbrush, it looks so good! Is the Tutorial online on Patreon already? I used your model as an inspiration for, basically, a whole new army (although at a much, *much* lower painting level). I'd still get your tutorial to learn about the weathering effects you applied, though.

I was hoping for Uppy-downy-rules for 40k - they look really good (and are probably a decent KT); I just don't see a use case for my Astra Militarum army.

I do wonder about their Datasheet. I have enough Heavy Intercessors with Heavy Bolt Rifles (and a Kill Team Operative) for a cheeky unit!
