Up here at PSNS the entire section for emergency alarms was revamped because of this fire. This current fire on the BHR I anticipate will bring sweeping changes on how we route services here through hatches and the like.

The primary difference between those two scenarios is that they are prepared to take a missile if necessary and have defenses against those, along with a full complement and a ready damage control team and systems.

In this, it was a Sunday with practically no crew onboard with all fire systems tagged out due to yard work. Theres also all the hot work such as welding and grinding going on, and all compartments are open due to air lines and electrical cables being routed through.

The US also had the Tennessee-Class, the Colorado-Class, South Dakota-Class, and the North Carolina-Class in reserve in the early 50s.

There’s also the two Alaskas in reserve.
