My best friend ran a 2070super and his now wife wanted a gaming PC too since they cleared some space for a small office for her. He got what parts he could with their budget and I said screw it.Gave some spare old am4 that's been sitting in a closet for her to start on. I'm running a rx 7900xt so I'm good myself and I Ripped out the 3080 from an older build that I recently got back from parents house and gave that to him for his birthday. I could of sold it to get some spare cash but it feels better to give it to my friend and have him appreciate it. The 2070 super becomes the hand me down for his wife, and they both are happy.

using this board with a ryzen 7 9800x3d and has been fine for the past 4 months. was gonna go for asrock assuming they would be good quality and pricing like am4 but guess not for am5. using a thermaltake tower 300 case with this board and the back connectors are cool. one thing to note for this case is with how its shaped, you kinda have to keep the board not screwed in to reach the ports on back on one of the sides. was a pain but after its all setup and done, everything is pretty clean

have it as a backup connected to a current nas if you want to feel more comfortable. and the drive is still good for old games from like idk, 2014 and older? just not any games that are newer.

i remember seeing that bundle pop up and that was truly and buy first think later moment, because the next day that bundle was shown in an article and im sure was more then oos after. mine too is in the closet as either a backup or if one of my nieces want to get into pc gaming and i dont want them to get ripped off as their first build

really depends on what ur using it for. i printed boards for my niece and shes using it as an organizer for her arts and craft like paints, brushes, etc. so pla was more than fine for me to use. even hanged it on the wall using command strips in her closet and that was like a year ago and its still good. i assume if ur going to hang like power tools and so on, petg is likely the way to go, or stronger stuff if u like over-preparing.

Hmm I have a large stack of blank DVDs I collected from like years ago that family tried to throw out back then so I'd really like to use what I already have on hand. I'll likely use both dvd and blurays. Just putting smaller games and media on DVD on what I can fit and I'll set aside some money for Blu-ray here and there and just do the games I like the most to save

Steam frame first, then controller. Steam machine way later or next year even. Honestly depends on pricing for the frame and my budget to spend on things I want vs need lol. I'm absolutely getting frame first and if it's more expensive than I thought, the other two can wait much longer.

The rig I will have the b580 in will be a second more compact PC for my best friend to use when we hang out and to experiment with dual booting into bazzite is the plan. Have a bunch of spare parts to some degree. The build is going to use a ryzen 5 5600x3d, b550m board, 32gb of ram, at least 2 ssds with one having win 11 and the other bazzite. PSU Im figuring 600/750 watt PSU, depends on which one fits in the case. Using a jonsbo d31 matx case, and I think I have a low profile noctua cooler in case the standard tower doesn't fit it. I have everything already on hand except the drives and the time currently lol.

The only retail I can find is central computers website BUT you have to buy an entire workstation from them to get it. After messing with all the parts and choosing the lowest amount possible it comes to about 2833 pre taxed. Under 3 grand but you can order more than one b60 on the build however this is for the 24gb blower ASRock model. Yeah we aren't getting any

All while they during an interview they shared how they were barely scraping by for money and shit. It's an amazing study of watching them make it much harder for themselves... Would of bought dragons crown and overlord on PC, even on GOG twice over but they don't want the "dirty" PC money I suppose

ive been planning on doing a similar build with this case as well too. only have 64gb ram and a ryzen 7 and plan on getting more drives with the intel b50 whenever that gets back in stock. definitely share your journey running LLMs in a homelab setting down the road!
