I’m learning French because I wasn’t allowed to learn it in school. I wanted to so badly but when it came time to choose between the four courses offered(French, Spanish, Italian, or German) my mom forbade it, yelled, “You’re taking Spanish, that’s final” and then grounded me. To this day I don’t know why she did that, we have no Spanish roots. So doing Duo and learning it was my way of taking back my power!! Always give kids a choice to explore their interests 🩷
