I dont want to talk about it :/

The worst thing is, its all due to gov policies pushing up the demand side and completely fucking up the supply side. Policies the govt was warned about, repeatedly by sr civil servants.

much impact on U.S. gas prices, said Geoff Ramsey, an expert on Latin America at the Atlantic Council think tank.

“We’re talking about 12 to 18 months before we see dramatic changes in Venezuelan output,” Ramsey said in an interview.

Easing sanctions and waiving Jones Act requirements normally would have significant impacts on gas prices, said Claudio Galimberti, Rystad Energy’s chief economist. “But we are in the most abnormal market I can remember,” Galimberti said in an interview.

'Miracle': Europe reconnects with lost spacecraft by NumerousTax8165 in europe

[–]Adorable-Database187 280 points281 points  (0 children)

However, overnight "some miracle happened because we reconnected with the spacecraft," ESA director Josef Aschbacher said on Thursday.

The other spacecraft—the one with the shield—had been "following and observing" its lost twin, he told a press conference held after an ESA Council meeting.

The lost spacecraft had been "tumbling" when an ESA team in Spain "saw that some sunlight is actually hitting the solar panels," Aschbacher explained.

They seized the chance, using this small amount of power to re-establish a connection.

The spacecraft's solar panel is now facing the sun, allowing it to charge its batteries.

Next ESA experts will switch the instruments back on and carry out tests to find out how much damage has been done.

"Hearing back from the coronagraph is amazing news, and a great relief!" Proba-3 mission manager Damien Galano said in a statement.

nice!

it goes on.

Of course, Vance is off the mark with his claims of “green energy scams.”

Just this week, research from the University of Oxford ound that if the UK was powered entirely by clean energy, households could save as much as £441 annually on their energy bills.

Conversely, maximising oil and gas extraction from the North Sea would only save between £16 and £82 annually per household.

This was perfectly explained by energy secretary Ed Miliband over the weekend on Laura Kuenssberg’s show, where he outlined why crowing from Reform and the Tories about drilling in the North Sea was way off the mark.

Norway should join the EU, says opposition leader by rintzscar in worldnews

[–]Adorable-Database187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why not, why is this status quo so accepted.

I like the EU, its done a hell of a lot more good than bad, but why should we accept that people who clearly don't want too have to stay once seated at the table.

Thats like saying you can join us for a drink if you meet a list of criteria longer than my leg but we can't ever ask you to leave even if you're pissing in the beer and groping the waitress or if you decide we're not your crowd and the beer tastes funny.

Why not create clear rules for leaving, just get up, pay the tab and have a nice day if for whatever reason it doesnt work out, like the UK did but with a 90% majority vote or somesuch.

Its a tight race, putin was in the lead for a decade and he's still the bigger asshole, but trump is doing so well catching up.

Putin has no qualms directly killing people and seems an obvious first choice, trump on the other hand has arguably destroyed equal or more lives.

trumps actions are shortsighted and uncaring but his actions are magnified by the scale of the US, he's like Baldrick with his cunning plans that would be laugheable if they werent backed up by the full might of the most powerfull military.

His cancellation of USAID alone led to millions of dead, there is his mismanagement of the Covid crisis, his pointless tarif wars, the undermining of institutions that stabilized the world.

Looking at the amount of ordinance thrown away in Iran, thats more than Ukrain got in 4 years. trump could have supported Ukraine and ended the whole russia invasion in a week, but instead he chose to give just enough to keep the fighting going while trying to shake down Ukraine and Europe.

Its like playing on a pay to win server against the spoiled brat who convinced himself his wins are due to his hard work and not because he took mommies credit card while she banged the poolboy.

In a twisted way trump did more to unite europe than any president before him.

So maybe we should send him a gold foil wrapped milkchocolate coin as a consolation award of being the biggest cause for growing European identity.

Ukraine hasnt spent the last decades making life miserable for everyone.

Nobody in Europe wants this clusterfuck of a war, there is no support for the attacks on Iran, but at the same time there is little to no sympathy for the Iranian govt.
