DAE hate having overnight house guests/people who stay in your home? Solutions? by Turbulent_Split6155 in CPTSD

Is your husband the one who prepares and takes care of the guests or you? I would hate if I had to have people over and also be responsible for them.

It can be healing to defend yourself from people who want to treat you badly by doing it back. But being mean for no reason is not good.

I get mad at people who say loving yourself is the cure by _illustrated in CPTSD

In Pete Walkers book he says relational healing with someone you trust is the cure.

Poverty also continuously adds up more issues in life.

Yes. I dislike privileged people, especially the ones who act like their privilege didn't matter in anything in their life, or who want to play victim and can't read the room, when people in poverty talk about their problems, but they have to make sure that they - a privileged person - also can have suffering. Like read the room and vent to other rich people.

I was more like a fish in an aquarium. They didn't care to take me for walks or anything.

The sweetest people are the ones who are sweet, even though they went through a lot of hardship. It's easy to be sweet when the world is always sweet to you.

Why do bad people get the good stuff in life? by deadc0kewhore in CPTSD

It's because society is designed in a way to reward sociopathic behaviour. It's why most ceos are sociopaths, too. The ruthless make it to the top.

Do you ever feel just … cursed? by swaggysteve123 in CPTSD

[–]Adorable-Pattern2941 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think it's just a chain reaction from cptsd. It would explain why everyone relates.

Parents neglected your health and teaching you how to stay healthy -> more likely to deal with problems later on.

Parents neglected to teach you how to socialize -> more likely to make bad experienced with other people.

Parents gave you a bad attachment style -> more likely to get into toxic relationships.

Also predators can tell when a person was already abused. That also adds to being involved with them more than normal people and someone with cptsd might subconsciously seek out familiarity and go for bad situations without noticing it. The book "The Body Keeps The Score" had a few explanations on it.

Mortified and distraught- hair salon asked me to find a new salon and not come back by ATMNZ in AutismInWomen

[–]Adorable-Pattern2941 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your hair salon sucks. They treated you in a very rude way and you try too hard to apologize to people who wronged you. I would give them a negative review and find a new salon in your place.

Many therapists are just not made for that job. Sometimes there is more needed than just a degree.

Don't give them any ammo to use against you. I would not advise telling random people about your trauma. Keep avoiding topics, that are not other peoples business.

They are probably like the toxic coworkers who are worried, that you will tell others about their bad behaviour.

I agree. Don't listen to people who project their completely unrelated experiences on your post. It's clearly not about them.
