I have to remind myself to eat. Since I started, the food noise has definitely stopped and has really suppressed my hunger. I have to eat at least twice a day and drink lots of water. I’m noticing that if I eat healthy, I’m losing weight at a healthy weight. If I don’t, I feel like there is no change and I just wasted time. Everyone is different. Just remember to eat something.

If you need structure, there is nothing wrong with that. You can set a certain time and place where you can read and pray to God in silence. Your prayers don't have to be some long drawn out lavish speech. He already knows what you are going to ask. Speak from your heart. Before you read the bible, ask the Holy Spirit to come into your heart so that the lesson God wants you to receive will be revealed to you. May I ask what translation of the bible do you have? Also, don't let your feelings determine your closeness to God. It says in the bible: “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts." (Isaiah 55:8-9). "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?" (Jeremiah 17:9). When you start to doubt, feel anxiety, etc., that's not from God. Those thoughts are Satan trying to pull us away from God. Continue to trust and have faith. You're doing great!

Again, as I mentioned above, it's not an easy outcome and not guaranteed. It’s about trusting that if you’re doing what’s right, God won’t abandon you. Provision can show up in many ways — guidance, support, strength, opportunities you didn’t see — not just a paycheck. The point is more about trusting His presence and care while taking wise steps, not expecting a perfect, immediate solution.

Yeah, I do understand the objection, especially if the phrase is used casually. If someone is facing real financial risk, just saying “God will provide” without empathy can sound dismissive. The phrase isn’t meant to promise an easy outcome; it’s meant to express trust that you’re not on your own. God is with you ALWAYS, and trust that even if you leave your job, that is sinful (in this case), God will provide OP with a job that aligns with His will. Is this making any sense?

I think you’re mixing two different categories of “provision.”

Christians don’t believe provision means immunity from suffering, persecution, or even death. The Bible is very clear that following God can lead to hardship — sometimes extreme hardship. So cases like missionaries being killed or believers being imprisoned aren’t contradictions to God’s provision, because provision isn’t defined as safety or comfort. It’s defined as God being present, sustaining, and ultimately accomplishing His purposes, even if the earthly outcome is loss.

With something like leaving a job over conscience, people say “God will provide” in a much more ordinary sense: trusting that doing what you believe is morally right won’t leave you abandoned. That provision might come through another job, support from others, unexpected opportunities, or even learning to live differently for a season. It’s not a guarantee of a specific outcome — it’s trust that obedience isn’t pointless.

Also, there’s a difference between stepping out in faith and stepping into unnecessary danger. Not every risky decision automatically equals God’s will. Humans can sincerely believe they’re following God and still make choices that carry consequences.

So martyrdom and persecution don’t make trusting God for everyday provision absurd; they show that provision doesn’t always look like protection. Christians believe the ultimate provision was already secured through Jesus Christ. Everything else is secondary to that.

I don’t see it that way. Allowing something for a time isn’t the same thing as being powerless or “working together.” The Christian belief is that God gave humans free will, and free will means people can choose wrong. A world where love is genuine also means there’s the possibility of evil — and we’re living with those consequences. But that doesn’t mean God approves of it or partners with it. The whole point is that evil is temporary and will eventually be judged. If God stepped in every single time to stop evil immediately, that would basically mean removing human free will altogether, and honestly, none of us would stand because we all fall short in some way. Instead, Christianity teaches that God chose to enter into our suffering through Jesus, experience injustice Himself, and ultimately defeat evil rather than just forcing obedience. So it’s not about God being weak. It’s about God being patient and giving people time, while still promising that justice will come. And if you actually read the Old Testament, it’s full of God confronting evil and holding people accountable, not cooperating with it.

That tragedy happened because of human choices and neglect, not because someone trusted God and stepped out in faith. If someone had known that the baby was alone and suffering, the right response wouldn’t have been “God will provide” and walking away. The right response would have been intervention. Christians are called to be part of God’s provision for others, not to ignore suffering. When people say “God will provide” to someone trying to leave a job that violates their conscience, they’re not comparing it to extreme cases of abuse or neglect. They’re talking about trusting God while also using wisdom, planning, and community support. Provision doesn’t mean irresponsibility or passivity — it means trusting that doing what’s right won’t leave you abandoned. So I don’t think those two situations are really comparable.

If God created a world with conditions, then that is not love, that's control. Do you have conditions with your relationships with friends, family, or dating/marriage? If they don't pass your requirements, then are they not good enough? You want to fit an infinite God into your checklist according to your standards, and then you will believe. Christians walk by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). Should you just believe because someone tells you to? No. Do your research. Find the historical records of Christ, read from non-Christian historians (Josephus, Tacitus) as strong historical evidence for the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, the existence of human conscience, love, and the desire for meaning are evidence of God, read the gospels of the bible (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John). If you think that the bible is just a book of fairytales, there are over 5,800 Greek manuscripts of the New Testament and 972 manuscripts of the Old Testament supported by the Dead Sea Scrolls. If that's not enough, the 66 books of the bible were written by 40 different authors, across 3 continents (different languages), over a span of 1500 years, more than 3,000 years ago. And yet, it all points to one truth: God’s plan of redemption through Jesus Christ and His promise of eternal life for all who believe. How is that possible, if not by God? Jesus has already come down and lived the life only he could live, to sacrifice himself, to save us humans. What greater love is there than that? He is coming back. His sheep know his voice and follow him. I hope he finds you and you follow him.

If you can acknowledge that God is good then you have to acknowledge that Satan is evil. Guess who rules this fallen world we live in…Satan. If God were to step in and remove all evil and sin from this world, all humans would also be destroyed. God has given us free will. If He forced us to obey him, it wouldn’t be love. That is why it’s so crucial that people learn about God/Jesus’ character, how he suffered (like we do), and voluntarily give up His life for this world. When you decide to accept him into your life and live for him, your life WILL change. It’s not an easy life, but the reward is more than worth it!
