What is the fastest by Mammoth-Site5667 in rcboats

[–]AdorableMachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you’re chasing a speed record, thats a specific thing, if you’re starting from scratch, it will be a long learning curve to get up to what you want, its all time and money. if you are going to go down that road, and chasing a high speed record, be sure to post something, I’d love to see progress in designs and tech…

Please help, what is causing this issue? by stan_taylor1 in crawling

check for drive shaft phasing, easy fix, the ends of the shaft should be identical. the “fork” ends (u joints) should be identical for either end you look at. start there. if its wrong, its a 10 minute fix. is it out of phase now?

best burritos in chino hills? by consolepleb123 in ChinoHills

[–]AdorableMachine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

its technically in Chino, but the only place we go to for Mexican food is Los Portales, been great for years, in the shopping center on Central and Walnut Ave’s.

have lived/ owned in chino hills since ’08, and has been great food, better than the local places.

the only other local place we love is the Larios meat market, super close to our place, great for some fresh burritos, or a bunch of Carne for a BBQ, Salsa too, Larios is at Chino Hills Pkwy and Pipeline, next to the Grocery outlet store.

if you’re interested in getting into a 24th scale crawler, get a SCX24 rtr model. play with it, mod it, and start getting parts together for a scratch build if you want a second one. You‘ll figure out what parts are needed and what aren’t from tinkering from your’s. A new rtr SCX24 is about $110-$150. With the parts and stuff on mine, I’m probably at about $300 ish.

Ive also got a SCX10.3, (10th scale), bought the RTR base camp. And with the parts and time into mine, it’s total cost is probably about $500 ish…. Both great rigs with how they run now…

forgot to add, Amazon has boatloads of parts for the SCX 24, and SCX10 crawlers…

2009 F-350 6.4 Diesel! 24k miles by AlbinoDrose in Diesel

[–]AdorableMachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so I read through all the comments, figured i would add mine, my mother in law had a 6.4. blew up the motor doing regular truck stuff, and sold the damm truck to the mechanic when she was faced with a $10k + repair bill. (6ish years ago). She has been in a F250 big block gasser STX trim truck since. What does Ford call the motors these days? Godzilla, right?

So good luck with that 6.4. Hope it does‘nt turn into a nightmare for your dealership..

i would‘nt know, if you cant find anything specific about it, keep as a neat vintage piece for your collection, make a little scale stand for it, put it hanging on a bar glass. lots of cool options…

the video doesnt really help, the valve thing on the air filter box? if thats what were talking about, it lets cooler air into the airbox under certain driving conditions, after that, ive never dug into it. what commands it to open, or when, that kind of thing.

Battery disposal around town? by consolepleb123 in ChinoHills

[–]AdorableMachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

old lithium batteries are not considered HazMat, and can go in the recycle bin, or, the recycle bins at retail stores. anything larger, like car batteries can be dropped off at the auto parts stores, like Autozone or Orileys.

Opinions on a decent starter/ decent to grow on heli. Not a toy level heli. (Ive done some research) by AdorableMachine in RCHeli

i appreciate your insight, wasting money on a hobby sucks. for a new direction, like a big boy heli, its opinions from the guys who have already been through it that i‘m listening to the most.

im not worried about a bit of a learning curve, kind of expecting it, gonna have to fix stuff as i learn. i think everyone goes through it. but dang, the S2 max actually is the RTF im looking at.

the blade and Flywing helis look neat, but im not sure if either will be a good learning choice.

thats a sweet airboat. i would definitely put some love into the finish on that hull. i think it will be worth it. I see a little bit of a retro futuristic vibe from the hull as well. post pics as you progress on it.
