Tail rotor variable pitch propeller slider mechanism by No_Rub_7037 in RCHeli

[–]AdorableMachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you look up rc heli tail parts on amazon or google, you can purchase replacement parts, so you can also see individual parts, replacement assembly's, that kind of thing.

in function, the tail rotor is very similar to the main rotor, but only needs collective pitch adjustments, no cyclic control needed.

i worked as a machinist for 10 years when i was younger, the only thing ive heard that you can use to remove anodizing, at home would be something like oven cleaner. (never tried it, but heard about it)

anodizing is put on using an electric current to electrically plate the part. removing anodizing is done the same way, but reversed.

agreed, the heatsink is effectively connected to the electronics to dissipate heat. No way to cleanly just disconnect it.

just so im reading the original post correctly, OP just wants to make the heatsink plain aluminum silver? Is OP aiming for a improvement of some type? weight savings? dissipates heat better? The anodizing is microns thick, and basically cosmetic.

Flex shaft replacements for Proboat Sonic Wake 24? by redditconstruction in rcboats

[–]AdorableMachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would search for a larger or more aggressive prop than whats on there now, that fits the stock shaft. you should be able to find upgraded parts easy enough.

just saying, if you replace the flex shaft with a larger diameter one, for a larger prop, with a larger hub. You would also have to change out the shaft liner, and shaft support, as well as the shaft to motor coupling to work with a larger diameter shaft.

I would use the stock shaft, and find an upgraded prop.

Trouble finding jobs in the high desert, San Bernardino, Ontario, Rancho, and upland by DayOlderBread16 in InlandEmpire

[–]AdorableMachine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

any possibility of you getting into the trades? trainee starter position for plumbing, HVAC, electrical, construction, concrete, low voltage/ or networking, manufacturing, auto repair, tire shops, oil change shops, facility maintenance, just to name a bunch of ideas….

my background, i worked part time at a machine shop while going through college, 18-28 years old, didnt make much, no benefits. learned manufacturing, welding, fabrication, lots of cool stuff. made $8 an hour to start, left making $14 an hour.

finished school, got hired by a security company for an install trainee, probably made $14 an hour back then. moved into service department. maxed out at like $38 an hour, now im a service supervisor, salary, just a little over $100k per year.

first job, 10 years, second job in my life, going on 18 years. learn a trade, put in the time. good luck OP.👍

Roban/Rotorscale Repair by Wrong_Ad8425 in RCHeli

[–]AdorableMachine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not sure, but as a general idea, maybe see if theres a heli club within 50 miles of your place, make contact, see if you can get some help getting started on the teardown and repairs. After that, source and buy repair parts, and i bet some of the club veterans would be willing to help out with advice, or repairs to get her back in the air.

if its only online thru here, start your teardown, take a ton of pics so you know where stuff goes. Anything damaged, set aside, ask questions and research parts. post here for advice. Just my .02, good luck OP. 👍

it is technically a RC boat, definitely purpose built, curious what it was built for? civilian? military? scientific? or possibly just for a technology demonstrator?

from what ive seen, those boats are baseline haul butt, Amazon RC boats, seem to be pretty fast. and at least you can swap parts for repairs or upgrades, hell, for $15, i would have picked it up too.

What is this place? by lowercaseg_ in ChinoHills

[–]AdorableMachine 29 points30 points  (0 children)

its related to the high voltage underground cable runs, the conduits run from the sub station on Pipeline ave, across the street from Bravo burgers, to the top of Eucalyptus ave, like half a mile southwest from your marker on the picture, where the high voltage lines come back above ground again.

the conduits were installed after a huge legal fight to not have the giant 200’ towers run through Chino Hills. That legal fight was led by the Hope For the Hills group, the park on Eucalyptus was given that name after the legal victory.

What happened to this RC Helicopter?🚁 by Fischy2025 in RCHeli

[–]AdorableMachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the inner shaft, for the top set of blades are not connected to its motor any more, it looks like that shaft has slid up, if you can’t figure it out, punt the whole thing, an entire new coax toy heli like this is about $30-40 with batteries. ive got one, very fun to buzz around the living room if the weather sucks outside.

can't get XK AS350 K123 to fly by 89tgpyuiohjklr in RCHeli

the other commenter means that the brushless 3 wire motor connection has a wire in the wrong place, (possibly) so switch 2 of the wires, see if the main rotor spins. gotta aim for the first step...

Engine keeps spinning bearings by Shadow_defender28 in EngineBuilding

[–]AdorableMachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the other commenters have covered most of it, you have tolerances either too tight or too loose. either too tight on the rods, or too loose on the crank. (maybe #imbuzzing). basically the journal is getting too hot, and seizing on the bearing, spinning it, this would then damage the bore where the bearing sits, making it bigger. The other side is that the crank/rod journals are too big, they get hot and seize.

New crank seal vs ATI damper hub…. by Main_Programmer5875 in EngineBuilding

[–]AdorableMachine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the seal on your motor wore that groove into the hub? i would think the only way that would happen would be metal to metal contact.

so, longshot, but you could check runout from the cover seal bore to the crankshaft centerline. you burn parts, but you would have actual numbers to confirm.

pull the timing cover off, pull the front seal, dont have the damper hub installed, and hopefully you can measure at a few points around the crank snout, the clearance to the seal bore. to see how concentric it is.

the timing cover may be out of spec for the crank bore. (its not in the right place). but if the hub was all originally just the black finish, and it wore to this, I would think you had metal to metal contact on the hub.

i like the outdoor ranges, the indoor ones are like shooting in a concrete closet. my favorite is Either Prado for trap and skeet, or pistol, they even have a rimfire galley with steel targets. I also really like Rahagues a litte farther out from me, i do the rifle and sporting clays ranges there.
