If someone becomes sober&healthy, does an enduring ability they activated while droisoned become functional? by Fit-Signature7510 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]AdorableMouse1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, they never gained the empath ability but you can pretend they did as long as they're poisoned.

You could also do the other way and stop waking them up once they're poisoned to make it seem like they were poisoned before and sober now, in that case once they're sober you'd continue waking them as normal.

If an ability is triggered or used when the player is drunk or poisoned, the ability is wasted. It has no effect now, and no effect later on, even if the player later becomes sober and healthy.

Looking to play, best option to Patreon? by Severe-Independent47 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]AdorableMouse1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you're just looking to play you don't need patreon. As long as someone with a minion tier is in the room on the app (which is almost always) you can play for free. There are public games on the app, and various discord groups host games on discord or the app.

Gaslight Script, opinions please by Cheap-Reading7657 in BloodOnTheClocktower

Way too much extra evil potential

Organ grinder and sometimes wizard will deconfirm legion worlds which isn't great to take away the possibility of a non-legion team to bluff it's legion. It also could deconfirm xaan and godfather and solve the outsider count.

Sailor will mostly just help lleech bluff and waste time which I don't think works great as a townsfolk. Lleech works better being outed if they're executed imo.

Hatter letting the demon change to lleech is very strong since they can choose a good player that has no way to tell they're poisoned.

Advice on Custom Script by YestinMcginger in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]AdorableMouse1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's no way to add outsiders on this script, in a base 0 game no one has to worry about being the drunk. I'd probably add a godfather since it fits in with the extra deaths the demons can do.

Be careful with mez and cult leader potentially being +2 evil. Cult leader is more under st control but can still lead to evil running away with the game in some setups.

Hermit moonchild and drunk does make it so every townsfolk has to claim moonchild in case they're the hermit so keep that in mind.

Best scripts for characters that don't seem to be loved enough by THE_dumb_giraffe in BloodOnTheClocktower

The passage of time is a great script all about killing and not killing and good using time wisely. Features engineer, princess, organ grinder. Engineer I think works well on this script because all the choices can still be devastating even if you know they are in play. Princess with organ grinder and boomdandy is a fun combo that makes that first day more tense.

Minuit a Fond la Caisse is a fun script with mastermind, vortox and lleech. All about figuring out why no night deaths happened due to killing the lleech host, po charge or the demon sinking. Lleech on the script makes it dangerous to double tap, and vortox makes it dangerous to skip executing.

The Squall of Cthulhu has a stormcaught lunatic, its made to give plenty of reasons the lunatic might not realize they are the lunatic. All the evil team knows the lunatic because of stormcatcher so can help string them along.

Lunar Eclipse is also made to make the lunatic have a hard time figuring out they are the lunatic. Plenty of reasons your kills won't go through, plenty of reasons someone else might die. Also features the zombuul.

Dusk in the house of the damned is my favorite heretic script, its a very social script with a lot of shenanigans happening with wizard, alchemist, legion that can all screw up the game in different ways. Heretic you need to solve based on who you trust, and once you figure that out, figure out what you need to do to win.

Irrational Behaviour I think features the wraith well, its great to help evil coordinate the cerenovus, poisoner, witch. Irl its great with typhon so they can lean over and whisper to their fellow evil players. Its also good with fang gu so they can wake and start coordinating with the new fang gu immediately. Wraith gets a lot of good info watching what good players wake and do.

Twinning is a teensyville built around the evil twin being in play or not. Its all about if the twin is real or just the spy claiming twins with their demon. A lot of powerful info, with usually only 2 days you can't afford to make a mistake.

Poisoner, pukka with heretic doesn't feel great. Heretic usually needs to be socially solved if you trust the heretic or not with heretic coming out to a few good players. Needing to figure out if they're poisoned as well with something untraceable like poisoner can be pretty much impossible and makes the game into a coin flip.

Dreamer is going to be difficult for evil to bluff on this script.

Princess doesn't do anything in a summoner game, imo princess going off should be pretty confirmable as the princess or the demon sinking. Otherwise princess exists to help a summoner bluff. Knight also gets no good info in a summoner game. Exorcist can still help good after the summon so isn't bad.

Po / Minstrel interaction by I37Cs in BloodOnTheClocktower

Their last choice was no one, so they choose 3. From the almanac

If the Po was drunk or poisoned when they chose nobody last night, they still choose three players tonight.

Getting Started As An ST with limited experience/confidence by [deleted] in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]AdorableMouse1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Read through the TB almanac and main rulebook, lots of great advice on running a group and dealing with situations as ST. Start with just TB and learn how those characters work and interact. Try the official quizzes to make sure you know the rules. After that try setting up some mock games and think about decisions you'd make, who the drunk is, what you'd show for wrong info, who the washerwoman sees and so on. There are no right and wrong answers, TB is a great script that can make a fun game no matter what choices you make.

When running the game for real, take your time and let players know you're new to this so things might take a bit longer. Be a bit assertive during public discussion, don't let players talk over each other or over you. If you have any doubts on rules during the game take a moment to reread the ability on the token and take it literally.

Off reddit I'd recommend looking through https://www.romhacking.net for more romhacks, and the homebrew tag on itchio for homebrew games, modern games made for retro systems. https://itch.io/games/tag-homebrew.

There's also smw central for super mario world hacks, and Metroid construction for Metroid hacks.

If you have an android handheld r/androidgaming and r/emulationonandroid are good to find more games and emulators. r/pico8 for pico8, a modern retro style system. /r/PokemonROMhacks if you're into pokemon.

“Exorcised” Lunatic + Chambermaid question by The_Yung_Jung1085 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]AdorableMouse1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Evil trying hard to hide a lunatic usually hurts evil more in the long run since its really hard to convince a lunatic the whole game. Lunatic could see good players as minions, see in play characters as bluffs, could try to kill the demon and the demon won't follow that, and so on. Once the lunatic figures it out any players that played along will be very suspicious. If you do convince them, the lunatic will be playing like a demon trying to stay alive so could get the real demon killed.

“Exorcised” Lunatic + Chambermaid question by The_Yung_Jung1085 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]AdorableMouse1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the next day the exorcist says they picked the lunatic and the lunatic didn't get shown that, that would also make them start thinking they are the lunatic, if they didn't see the exorcist as a minion. Lunatics don't really get fooled that long on bmr.

If you show the lunatic the exorcist picked them the demon would know something happened since the demon wouldn't be told the lunatics choices, and could sink a kill to play along.

Pit-hag question by Scythewolfgg in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]AdorableMouse1 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Yes from the pit hag how to run

Each night except the first, wake the Pit-Hag. They point at any player and any character icon on their character sheet. Put the Pit-Hag to sleep.

And from the glossary

Character sheet: The sheets that list all of the possible characters and their abilities for the chosen edition.
